Strange room layout. Terrace area not protected from water from the rooftop pool.

The room was pleasant, but the accommodation was a strange layout. Plenty of wasted space in the kitchen, bathroom and sitting room, but the bedroom was too small. The bed dominated the room, it was difficult to open the wardrobe door on one side and very limited space on the other. No sockets were available near the bed. The biggest problem was the swimming pool above. The terrace was fantastic, with a superb view of valletta and surrounding areas, but the experience was ruined by constant volumes of water pouring through the screens on the edge of the pool due to other guests splashing water. We had to complain eventually.

Needs some changes to stay up to date with Accor standards

Stayed in a penthouse room. Bed was too big for room. Could fit two bed side tables so only one lamp. Pillow cases too small for pillows. Couldn’t fully open cupboard door. Don’t think guests should pay for pool towels. Pool relaxation area played horrible loud music and was a smokers paradise in a small area. We are non smokers. No lounges. Very nice expensive ice creams. However the manager was willing to listen to our concerns and make changes

Staff were nice, as was the food. It was also nice and quiet. Could have done with a midweek clean and the towels were stained and had to be replaced. Our main gripe is that, as we were in room 1004, it was directly below the rooftop cafe seating area. Every morning at 7.04am we were awoken with the sound of tables and chairs being set up - this took around 30 minutes. They were scraped along the floor (our ceiling) and it was incredibly loud and impossible to sleep through. We had to get up early every day.
