New hotel, quite nice decor in the room and the size is quite big for Malta, plus the position is good. Despite having a room facing the street and on a lower floor, I had no issues with noise. AC does not work , it is locked , which extremely annoying as I prefer to keep my room colder than 22 C ... but I find it is becoming common even in nicer hotels. No recognition whatsoever of status throughout the entire stay ...

Had an amazing time here. Did not know about the European no AC during winter rule however the door was able to stay open and this helped.

I have emailed with my long list of complaints and am awaiting a response before I submit my public reviews but basically this hotel is not being run properly, the finish of the rooms is below par and the many of the facilities don’t actually work. I have picture and video evidence to support.

Unfortunately, this stay was far below the standards I expect from Novotel, particularly as an ALL Platinum member. Upon arrival, I was assigned a room with a persistent sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The smell was especially strong at night and significantly affected my ability to sleep. In addition, the TV welcome screen displayed the name of another guest, which immediately raised serious concerns regarding privacy and data protection. I reported the issue with the incorrect name at the reception on the first evening, however no effective action was taken at that time. The sewage smell continued throughout the night. The following morning, after personally reporting the situation again, we were offered a room change to another room of the same category, which we accepted. We were asked to pack our belongings and leave the hotel until after 3 p.m., during which time our luggage was transferred by the hotel staff. While the room change itself was eventually arranged, this caused additional inconvenience and disruption to our day. The next day, I realised that one of my shirts had been left behind in the previous room. I immediately reported this to the reception. Unfortunately, despite this being a direct consequence of the room move handled by the hotel, I never received any follow-up or feedback, and the item was never recovered. Additionally, the service attitude at the reception was disappointing. The staff were not particularly welcoming or empathetic, and one receptionist in particular came across as unhelpful, which further added to the frustration instead of helping to resolve the situation. There were also basic room standard issues. The room did not contain any water glasses, and there was no coffee machine, despite this being shown in the room photos at the time of booking. These may seem like small details, but they contribute to the overall perception of quality and attention to detail. Finally, I would like to mention that the day of my check-in was my birthday. While I did not expect anything extravagant, a simple acknowledgment would have been a nice gesture, especially considering my Platinum status. Unfortunately, this went completely unnoticed. While I appreciate that a room change was ultimately offered, the combination of technical issues, privacy concerns, lack of follow-up, loss of personal property, service attitude, and missed opportunities for guest recognition resulted in a very disappointing experience. I expect significantly better consistency, communication, and care from the Novotel brand.”**
