Mercure Katowice Centrum is a Green Key-certified business hotel in Upper Silesia. Two green walls (200 m², 11,000 plants) match the plant mural by the local artist Mona Tusz. The interiors are inspired by the industrial heritage of the region, and the Winestone restaurant serves local cuisine. Solar panels, rainwater collection, and reducing plastic - sustainability is our lifestyle.

The hotel is located next to the train and bus station, with direct connections to Katowice Airport. You can also get to the Convention Centre in 5 minutes by tram. I am extremely disappointed with my stay at your hotel and feel that the service I received did not justify the price I paid. When I arrived, I found that my room had not been properly cleaned after the previous guests. The room was also smelly, which made the experience even more unpleasant. I reported both issues immediately, but the only response I received was an apology and the explanation that it was “a simple human mistake,” along with the suggestion that I move to another room. However, I came to the hotel to rest, not to spend my time packing and moving all of my belongings from one side of the hotel to another because of problems that should have been resolved before my arrival. Instead of asking guests to relocate, your staff would be better advised to learn how to properly clean rooms and manage the hotel to an acceptable standard. I was also informed that, under your new “green” policy, rooms are cleaned only every three days. Despite paying the full price for my stay, I find it unacceptable that I had to call reception and specifically request housekeeping. This level of service does not meet the standards I expected. When my room was finally cleaned after three days, I was still dissatisfied with the quality of the housekeeping. The cleaning was below expectations and did not leave the room feeling properly refreshed. The breakfast was equally disappointing. Every day it was exactly the same, with little variety. The juice appeared to be artificial, and the croissants tasted stale rather than fresh. In my opinion, the breakfast is simply not worth the additional cost. At check-in, I also asked whether a room with a bath was available. I was only told that my booked room category did not include it. I was never offered the possibility of paying for an upgrade, which would have been appreciated and could have improved my experience. Overall, had I known that the level of service would be like this, I would have chosen a different hotel and gladly paid more for a property that provides the quality and attention to guests that one should reasonably expect. Unfortunately, this stay has been a major disappointment, and I cannot say that I received value for the money I spent.
