The service of Movenpick at lac was okay but in Susse the service was bad

Management should do more

While the hotel staff are friendly, the hotel is clean, the rooms a good size and the food is very good, the management should do more to make the attractions of the area accessible to travelers. The hotel should offer organized tours etc. rather than simply offering to find random drivers and skim a profit off the trips arranged. It is a very dissatisfying arrangement.

The hotel room was dirty; the floor had some rust stains on it on the carpet and the tiled area and there was dust in the room which hadn’t been cleaned. The fridges in the two rooms were barely cold and could not properly refrigerate our son’s medicines which had to be stored in the fridge. One of the fridges was missing the temperature control dial. The room provided tea bags and coffee sachets but in order to drink coffee / tea we had to always request milk via the concierge which would take between 10-20 minutes to arrive. This could be relived by having single-use mill cartons in the rooms. We had an emergency and required a doctor to visit our son; the hotel called a doctor for us who with respect did not come across competent or reassuring. He stayed for an hour talking with staff and billed us £60. I then had to insist that an ambulance was called as he said it was fine. The hotel then called an ambulance which took us to an extremely grotty and dated hospital. The hotel asked and I confirmed that we have private health and travel insurance so instead of taking us to the best hospital they took us to one which was so far away and which asked for parents to bring their own thermometers. We didn’t have one so we had to borrow one from another patient’s mother. They even used an antiquated metal cup system for an ecg which left several dark bruises on my son’s chest which I have photographed. I did complain about this to the hotel afterwards but nothing was done about it. This was inexplicably bad. The breakfast food was very basic. The porridge was cold and lumpy every day. The coffee machine did not work properly. The hot drinks were given to us lukewarm and were not very pleasant to drink. The pastries were tough and tasted stale. Overall the food was not good.
