My room was changed from the Deluxe room I had booked to a Classic room. At check-in, I was asked whether I wanted a smoking room, but I was not informed that this would mean changing the room type. When I contacted reception, the staff were helpful and willing to change the room back if I preferred, and I ultimately accepted the Classic room. However, I believe guests should be clearly informed that choosing a smoking room with a balcony may result in a different room category. In such cases, the hotel should also consider refunding or adjusting the price difference between the booked and provided room types.
