what was meant to be a relaxing 3 night stay, turned into a mind numbing break consisting of hammer drilling into a lift well that was adjacent to our room. TV could not be heard over the hammer drilling. When raised with front desk staff, not about the actual scheduled maintenance, but more so about being more aware when allocating rooms to guests knowing that schedule maintenance is planned. Unfortunately the first response I got was an excuse (they only have a small window to do the work) completely missed my point - DONT put guests into rooms that are adjacent to scheduled lift maintenance. Zero empathy. I then played the recordings of how noisy it was in the room, got a blank look and then rolled straight back into the post stay spool, blah blah blah. I don't think it was too much to ask, when paying hundreds of dollars to stay, to be more aware of where guests are being placed within a very large building in relation to noisy maintenance work.

That is a fair point, and we're sorry that we didn't acknowledge this more effectively when you raised it with our team. We stayed for a birthday celebration and had two rooms. The team were helpful to get us on the same floor but one was a room different to what was booked without the pool view. We asked reception and it couldn’t be changed as it was a busy weekend. This aside, the rooms were not up to a standard of clean you would expect from the Accor brand. The bathrooms in both rooms were full of mould and pink soap scum build up. The tiled floors covered in dust and the sheets on all beds were paper thin and marked. Beds were also only made with a fitted and flat sheet, no other bedding which was a surprise considering it is winter. The king size bed also didn’t have the joiner meaning there was a gap between the two king singles pushed together. Overall the location is lovely, but the hotel really needs to work on its cleaning and services. Really not worth the nightly tariff that they are currently charging.
