I had a comfortable evening but had an unpleasant smell in shower drainage. The rest of it great, breakfast was ok nothing to complain about.

I have a suspect that staff receives 10% share out of all taxi rides, which are organized by them. I saw the handover of a 10 Turkish Lira banknote between the receptionist and the taxi driver once I pre-payed 100 Turkish Lira. I believe this can be proven by CCTV recording. Date: 08.03.2020, Time: around 08:30 am (I'm sure no one will investigate this). OK. This is none of my business and cannot be successfully proven. What has an effect on me: staff members are not shy to lie in order to make me (and probably other guests) to use taxi. Examples: 1. I wanted to go to the city centre and asked the receptionists to advise how I can get there by public transport. They immediately told me that it's lot better and quicker to use taxi as it would take only 30 minutes. I kept asking them about the public transport. They said I would need to buy an Izmir card, top it up with money and so on so forth. Well, this is actually wasn't through. I walked up to the metro station (5 minutes), I bought my ticket within 2 minutes (no Izmir card required). Rode on the train and travelled 15 minutes. The whole journey took about 20 minutes, costed me 14 Turkish Lira, instead of 60... 2. I asked the receptionist, where I can find a cash machine (ATM). He told me that, it would take 5 minutes by taxi to reach the first available ATM. I certainly asked him whether any ATM is available within walkable distance. The answer was certainly NO. I had a suspect based on my above experience and gave it a go. I found the bankomat after 7 minutes walking. More were available in few minutes walking distance. I found this very annoying and very inappropriate.

First Time at Ibis Styles Izmir

Even though not in the main part of the city, it is very close to the new metro line that will get you into the city within minutes (much faster and hassle free). The hotel staff were very welcoming, very clean room and the room we had stayed in had some fantastic views of the new part of Izmir City. Room layout was great and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was the standard Turkish breakfast and fresh (loved the soup). At the first glance you may think the hotel has nothing near it, but we were very surprised how many different restaurants are actually within a 10 minute walking distance, the hotel's restaurant also serves up some good meal options as well.

As I was visiting İzmir for business purposes with a one night stay, I was looking for a hotel located at a place that provides easy access to my meetings. I wouldn't spend too much time at the hotel due to my agenda so all I was looking for was a clean, silent and comfortable room with an affordable price. Stating the same with my title, ibis Styles Izmir Bornova offered exactly what I was looking for. Hotel staff was friendly as well which made me leave with a smile on my face. I'll definitely consider staying at ibis Styles Izmir Bornova again for my future visits to İzmir.

A new hotel with welcoming and professional staff. Standard room was large enough for 3 adults. Towels and sheets were perfectly clean as they should be. Breakfast could had been better. Location of this hotel is in the middle of Izmir and it is very easy to use public transportation as well as using your car.

1) Would appreciate if floors were warm in the bathroom - right now there is no floor heating there. 2) Tried to use mini-bar but it said that "no connection to server". 3) My room was just next to the elevator. Woke up in the middle of the night because some party people were hanging out next to the elevator. Fortunately they were not there long, so I did not need to call service desk.

Overall it was good. But staff needs training on customer service follow up technics. Staff frontdesk was very nice but they dont complete the task and follow up. Food and beverage needs to training on customer care wellcoming and smiling. Rooms clean but some rooms smells cigarettes very strong. We had to change rooms for few times. On public area management staff talks about employees problems and challenges.
