MGallery Montevideo: "5-Star" Luxury? More Like a Cheapskate Comedy Special in Glitzy Gold Trim. Oh, darling MGallery Montevideo, you 5-star fraud in a fancy dress of kitschy golden bordures—those gaudy bathroom trims and handrails screaming "rich" like a knockoff Versace curtain! They charge a whopping $4 for a coffee pod you can snag for $1 at the supermarket—because nothing says luxury like nickel-and-diming your caffeine fix. Got two guests? Tough luck, one measly water bottle for the room. And don’t even dream of borrowing their luggage scale without a "guarantee"—because apparently, a $5 AliExpress gadget is the crown jewels. Breakfast? A tragic farce. Want a cappuccino? Shell out extra. Prefer powdered milk from a bus-station dispenser? Be their guest! Meanwhile, we strolled three buildings over to the Hyatt, got warmer service than a Patagonia summer, and didn’t even need to be guests. MGallery’s only brag is the view—which, newsflash, Hyatt has too, minus the Scrooge vibes. And get this: part of the Accor chain? How long have they been tarnishing that badge—five minutes? A decade of fool's gold? Whatever the timeline, Accor must be so proud of this budget-trap mascot, where staff channel "Pluribus"with creepy plastic smiles, never daring to say "no" outright, just eerie mumbles and deflections. It’s like they’re auditioning for a horror-comedy about passive-aggressive robots. You deserve the Hyatt’s actual hospitality, not this ritzy gold-plated penny-pinching.
