We really expected much more from a Mercure, based on our past experiences at hotels of the brand. Mercure Montevideo is much closer to an Ibis than any other hotel we have stayed before, even some Ibis in Europe are much better. Room was teeny-tiny, with too little storage space, the floor of the balcony filthy, the whole premises looked neglected. The room has been careless made up, the coffee machine was dirty and besides, it did not work properly (not to mention a fee of U$S 3 per serving...). The bright side was the helpfulness and kindness of the staff, and a really good breakfast.

Doves and Birds wake you up

I couldn't sleep well, Doves nesting in the window make scratching and annoying sounds. When I talked about this with my Office colleagues they told me that they don't choose this hotel because of the birds noise. I don't think I'll stay there again..
