From the time I arrived at the hotel until the time I left, the staff were exceptional - attentive, polite, exemplary but never intrusive or overbearing. My room was to an extremely high standard and the welcome chocolates were well received. The fantastic pool and spa area made for a very relaxing early morning, the staff in that area were quiet, attentive and available if needed. The Guards Bar was welcoming and the staff helpful and friendly. Saison was peaceful and served an excellent breakfast. The 'history tour' was excellent and our guide was very knowledgeable. Whilst at the hotel, it felt homely, comfortable and ALL staff were friendly and always 'passed the time of day'. The decor around the hotel was amazing, and in keeping with the original use of the building. I cannot praise the hotel highly enough - it really was the most fantastic stay I have had in London.

Staff are eager to please. It was unfortunate that the room had some technical problems including the privacy lock not properly functioning so turn down service missed, the battery cover in the safety deposit box missing which caused concern that the batteries might be disconnected when the box was in a locked position (happened twice when unlocked) and the shower drain not functioning well. Otherwise the room was lovely. Although dogs were in the hotel at the time, our room assignment was made such that we weren't bothered by them. I'm allergic to dogs.

From the second my fiancé and I stepped in the doors we were graciously welcomed by one of the hotel managers and given a welcome glass of champagne. Everything was top notch and in impeccable condition.

We had a fantastic experience from the moment we we pulled into the courtyard with luggage collected and taken directly to our room to the checkin with a welcome glass of a Singapore sling, the room was fantastic with a lovely touch of a bottle of champagne on ice along with cheese and crackers. The spa/pool areas where amazing, the is a good choice of restaurants of which we tried breakfast and an evening meal in the French courtyard restaurant both of which where excellent both with the food and service in fact the service and attention to detail throughout the hotel was exemplary
