JO&JOE is a house open for all, a cool and caring social hub! For people travelling alone, in pairs or in groups, we offer an ideal and appropriately priced shared or private accommodation in Paris - Gentilly. As well as serving the best hot dogs in town and awesome cocktails, we also have a self-serving beer tap system! Located right in front of the biggest Parisian campus, the JO&JOE Paris-Gentilly is ideally located with the B line RER train that will take you directly to the center of Paris.

Located between the Porte d'Orléans and the Porte de Gentilly, a 5-minutes walk from the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris and 10-minutes from the Charlety Stadium. JO&JOE is located next to the RER B line which is directly connected to the center of Paris (20 minutes) and to Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (45 minutes). Orly Airport is only at 35 minutes. The Tramway T3 is very close too.

Although this was my first stay at a Jo&Joe Hostel, what I’ll remember most of all is the hassle-free service, the colourful ambience and the lively yet pleasantly cosy atmosphere. On the whole, I was satisfied with the hostel and, specifically, with my ‘Cabin Queen Size Bed’. The room was exceptionally clean and attractive; the duvet cover was already in place, so that the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of comfort that lasted right until the very end of my stay. Whilst space for luggage in the room is consequently very limited, the bed is a very comfortable size and the tight quarters – apart from the bed – are easy to make the most of. I felt quite at home there and slept very well every night, even though it can get a bit stuffy towards night-time, especially in summer, and you can hear any noise from outside quite clearly. However, as it was very quiet during my stay, these issues didn’t detract from my experience. Whilst the hotel looks very appealing overall, there were a few faults, such as broken door catches on the bathroom door, some showers that could no longer be locked, and clear signs of wear and tear on the toilets. Nevertheless, I regard these issues as minor; I find the value for money to be excellent, and all the essentials – such as the lift, the shower itself and the electricity in my room – worked perfectly. Whilst the staff were extremely friendly, they were, for my taste, almost a little too defensive – coming across as just a tiny bit reserved – so I think that, particularly at check-in and check-out, a slightly more personal approach, on a warm and approachable level, would add a valuable touch to the whole experience. In conclusion, I’d like to say that my memories of the stay are positive, and I already know exactly where I’ll be staying the next time I visit Paris;)

noisy (every move of any other guest in the nearby “rooms” was amplified through the wood walls), uncomfortable, the receptionist woke me at midnight because he had issues keeping track payment worst hotel stay ever

It was perfect for what I needed for the night! As a solo traveler, I felt safe and enjoyed being able to have my own space. My one comment was that it was a little warm in my room, but otherwise the amenities were wonderful.

The room was fine and the kitchen amenities were very useful. The staff were kind, as well. However, the food was ridiculously expensive and the quality didn’t match the price. The lockers were not big enough to store a regular 20kg suitcase for some reason.
