I can still smell the scent of the vintage wood furniture… so good. I took so many pictures here. I am amazed by someone envisioning building something this majestic back in the 1920s, and the fact that it has been preserved so well it became living history.
The Fairmont Gold lounge is absolutely worth, everyone’s so sweet. Miles ahead of RC lounge. Max was touring me through the nine nation suites and the Sassoon suite. He mentioned “Chinese were once barred from entering this place, we should be proud of how far we’ve come over the century by standing right here”. I feel this. A lot.
Imagine seeing the bund light show from the window right at 7… feeling magical.

This is a wonderful hotel in so many ways. Great staff and service, blending elegance, luxury and history in the heart of Shanghai.
Restaurants were great and the breakfast - spectacular. My history tour with Robin was amazing - and enlightening . Rooms are large, spacious and well appointed. Just a terrific place from which to enjoy one of the world's great cities.

This must be one of the best stay I had in Shanghai and this is comparing to other top tier hotels as well. The must call out is the bespoke service you get provided when staying at the peace hotel. The hotel is a master piece itself with a rich history, the staff are well knowledgeable, the room we stayed in is the fairmont gold suite which is massive, only downside is there’s no view which is only offered in the signature and the country suites. The lounge was exceptional, the service and food is what you would expect from a high end 5 star hotel. Special callout for Marjory, due to weather and other occasions we couldn’t visit the rooftop bar but the next day I received a call from Marjory who took us up the roof top for a tour and gave us a very detailed history lesson of the hotel, this one of a kind service is rare even for top tier hotels. This stay was so comfortable we really didn’t want to leave!

I booked in to stay at the Peace Hotel Fairmont Gold Suite. The lady at the front desk advised that I can check in at the Gold lounge for a better experience and she personally took me up to level 9 and briefed the situation with Nan Nan from the lounge for check in.
I told her that I was celebrating my anniversary and travelling with children. She allocated the best room possible for me with a good view for the bund. I asked her about the roof deck that I saw people walking around a couple of days ago and was wondering if that was the lounge. She advised the deck is for private function and not for public access. However she said she would ask the management if we can go up and have a look.
Later on that evening, after having dinner at the lounge, I asked about the deck to the manager at the time Margjoy. She then checked with the team message and confirmed it was ok to go up. She asked Jillian to take us to visit the deck. We were very lucky to visit the deck and saw the best view of the bund and Lujiazui. Jillian was very helpful and helped us to take photos from her phone. The experience was amazing and Margjoy was very helpful in getting information to travel from the bund to Lujiazui by Ferry.
The bed was very comfortable and it was the best sleep since the start of my travel in China. I did not want to get out of bed in the morning!
When we checked out both Nan Nan, Margjoy and the whole team were there. I was surprised that they printed a copy of our photo and put it in a frame for us as a gift.
My stay at the hotel was amazing. Everyone at the hotel was very polite and well trained. They all have the mentality of putting customer first and try their best to make the customers happy.
They have the best attention to details and it was the best experience that I have ever had.
Special thanks to Nan Nan, Margjoy, Jillian and the team, they gave me a life time best experience. I will definitely come back again!

Normally, I don’t really like writing hotel reviews, but I feel that the Fairmont Peace Hotel truly deserves one this time.
First of all, the hotel is a building steeped in history. Usually, my personal preference leans toward newer hotels, but this place gave me a uniquely different flavor. Another reason is that I came here with my father, and he absolutely loved it. Back in his era, he considered this to be one of the best hotels in China, so this stay gave him an unforgettable experience.
The hotel's service was also incredibly attentive. We had originally booked a base-tier room, but since I hold an Accor Diamond membership, I received an upgrade. Our hotel package also included access to the Gold Lounge, which allowed us to have breakfast either at the restaurant on the 9th floor or on the 1st floor. We also went to see the hotel's famous jazz performance together, and it was fantastic.
Lastly, I want to highlight Kevin, the receptionist at the Fairmont gold Lounge, whose service was absolutely meticulous. I am incredibly grateful to him for all the wonderful arrangements he made for us.

We absolutely loved this hotel—the location is unbeatable!
We arrived on an early flight and went straight to the hotel to drop off our luggage. Although we came back before the official check-in time, the staff took such great care of us. You could really feel their warmth and attentiveness. They even offered us access to the spa so we could refresh, as we were quite tired and ended up falling asleep there.
What truly touched us was that the staff noticed this and proactively prepared our room early—without us even asking and well before check-in time. We completely understood the standard policy, which made their gesture even more meaningful. That moment really won our hearts.
Throughout our stay, everything was exceptional—the service, facilities, room, breakfast… everything. It’s honestly hard to describe just how amazing it was.
We truly love this hotel and will definitely be back. Highly recommended to everyone!

This is a world-class hotel. The building is almost 100 years old, a classic from its period, and extremely well maintained. The staff are plentiful and attentive, ready to assist with good English-speaking skills. I enjoyed the jazz bar (Accor membership qualifies you for a free cocktail) and last year did the tea. The breakfast is so extensive that routinely I have seen guests videotape the abundance of the feast. The location on the bund allows for great morning runs directly across from the hotel of up to 10KM with amazing views. The Fairmont Fit packages is as always great for running shoes and exercise clothes you then don't need to pack. I have been to China twice now on business and love to make this my entry point to recover from jet lag. Its simply an amazing place to stay.

Wonderful stay due to fantastic location on East Nanjing Pedestrian street, the Bund and close proximity to metro station (East Nanjing Rd). The staff were exemplary, from the front desk to those in the Jasmine lounge/restaurant and especially ALL the staff working in the Executive lounge. Was there for four nights. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, it felt luxurious. Check in was swift and the room was massive.
Had breakfast for a couple of days because it was complimentary for gold member. Breakfast spread was alright.
The only issue was that the hotel was so iconic that people crowds around the building to take pictures.
