Our first stay from (30-may to 2-Jun) was really awesome. Check in process made us feel appreciated as platinum member of Accor. Room upgrade was a nice gesture. Reception staff was very polite and friendly. Room was clean and spotless. Everything was nice. If there is one thing that we think can be improved about would be the F&B staff, really. It wasn’t bad. Just basic. Not something you’d expect from a five star luxury hotel. Staff was not pro-active. Most not smiling or friendly. Felt like they were just obliging. Even the F&B staff at Novotel (Clover) when we stayed there few days before, went above and beyond five stars. During our second stay from 4-Jun to 9-Jun, we were almost underwhelmed. Check in was just like a normal cashier transaction. Checked into a lower floor room with the same configuration (which we appreciate) but the toilet still had hair in the room. Obviously not cleaned properly. Water pressure in this room was also smaller than our first experience and we checked with reception about it after a night, in which they said they would have the engineer to go check for us and see if anything can be done. The said engineer, never turned up and we just lived with the low water pressure the next 5 nights. During this stay, we had to ask for an extra towel daily despite having on records that we have 3 persons in the room (with our Daughter). It’s just funny how we can call the housekeeping daily for it. And when they make up the room, they collect 3 bath towels but not once were we replaced with 3. It was always just 2. The bathroom floor had hair that was not vacuumed again. Seems like the Housekeeping at that level is of very different service level as our first stay (where we even had night turn-down) service. The corridors of the rooms were often plagued with smoke but I guess that was something we Could still live with as long as it’s not affecting our rooms. I just wished more staff can live up to the Sofitel 5 star luxury standards. Throughout both our stays, the only person who consistently provided 5 stars service was Jerry, at the concierge. He is super pro-active, remembered us, and always go above and beyond to assist us. He constantly checked if we needed any help at all, helped with reservations, suggestions and provided very helpful advice. I hope the hotel can reward him because he was by far the MVP during our stays.

The overall stay is very satisfactory. However, I only managed to find out after my stay that it was not eligible for Accor membership points accumulation. In addition, I have also made some spendings at the hotel and those are also not taken into account as well. I am just wondering why the hotel operates differently as compared to those in other countries when it comes to the loyalty program. Separately, I would like to specifically point out Mr Jerry who is attending the concierge desk. He is extremely helpful and attentive to my family's requests, 2 thumbs up for him!

All good. Room service is good . But breakfast did not inform client the time is over. Try to have more fruits but found no food anymore.

Love the cleanliness of the hotel which is very important for us. Staffs were very helpful throughout the stay whenever we needed help. Would like to mention Jerry from the concierge for his help going the extra mile for us.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel, location is in a residential area away from the crowd. the lead concierge Jerry was superb, he was very helpful and friendly. gave insights on some food recommendations and sightseeing activities. he also helped to look for our couriered items and arranged for our airport transfer. best services we have received after staying in so many hotels. room size was alright but didn’t receive any room upgrades as a gold member. the bathtub with the view of the residential area was slightly weird as there isn’t much of a shanghai skyline to see both day and night.
