Can completely recommend staying at the Pullman when visiting Shanghai. It’s the perfect area to get around the city and located just by the metro and railway station. The staff are very friendly and professional and will make your visit even more pleasant.

The hotel boasts an exceptional location, offering super convenient access to Shanghai Railway station and just subway station down straight the Hotel. It’s the top choice for any leisure or business travellers that want to visit Shanghai or the city arounds in Jiangsu province. The hotel is still classy even if a bit aged. Rooms unfortunately quite small but this is quite normal considering the location. Personnel are always super friendly and helpful, in general English proficiency should be improved. Food room service should be guaranteed also after 10:30 pm as many business travellers might come late. Pool unfortunately always too crowded due to other guests. One word of appreciation goes to Ms. Felicia that she had been always supportive during my various stays in this hotel in 2025, managing in a timely and efficiently manner all my requests. Overall I’m extremely satisfied of Pullman Jingan and I truly recommend to any traveller that is seeking strategic and convenient location to visit Shanghai and the other nearby cities of this amazing Province!

Beautiful hotel let down by false advertising

This is, in many respects, an excellent hotel. Many aspects are truly five-star. However, I am rating it only two stars due to false marketing and questionable business practices that undermined my stay. The Negatives 1. Misleading advertising I booked the CEO Suite specifically because it was advertised as having a jacuzzi tub — clearly stated on both the Accor and Pullman marketing materials. This is NOT true. The CEO Suite, and in fact none of the suites or rooms at this hotel, include a jacuzzi tub. When I raised this with staff, they admitted it was an error and said they would “inform people to update the marketing.” I also contacted Accor directly, but after several weeks, they have yet to respond. This level of misrepresentation is unacceptable for a five-star property. 2. Unauthorised payment practice The hotel charged my card a day before my arrival without notice. The charge appeared under the name of a restaurant within the hotel — Zhongya Restaurant — rather than the hotel itself. Initially, I believed my card had been compromised, as I hadn’t dined there. Upon inquiry, the hotel explained it was a pre-authorisation and that the restaurant was part of the hotel so they do not see it as an issue. However, there was no prior communication about this process, causing unnecessary stress and confusion. 3. Faulty room temperature control Our room was uncomfortably cold, and the thermostat did not work. When we called reception, we were told the thermostat was broken and were provided portable radiators instead. This should have been communicated at check-in, not discovered through discomfort. 4. Incorrect and misleading food labelling At breakfast, several food labels were inaccurate — for example, pork sausages labelled as beef, and beef sausages labelled as chicken. Vegetarian items contained meat, and pork items were sometimes placed alongside non-pork dishes. Even staff could not consistently provide correct information. For an international hotel hosting guests with dietary or religious restrictions, this lack of accuracy is unacceptable and potentially offensive. 5. Fitness centre shortcomings While the 24-hour gym is well-equipped, it lacked air conditioning, making it uncomfortably warm. The water cooler only dispensed lukewarm water, and no towels were provided. Additionally, some guests were using the gym without appropriate attire — even shirtless or in underwear — which raised hygiene concerns. Clear enforcement of dress and hygiene policies would improve the experience. 6. Limited wellness facility hours The sauna and steam room facilities were only open for about two hours daily, rendering them largely unusable for most guests. This severely limits the practicality of these advertised amenities. ⸻ The Positives Despite the above issues, there are many strong points worth mentioning: • Excellent location — just a one-minute walk from the metro and easily accessible via taxi or Didi. • Stylish and modern interiors — the hotel’s design is contemporary, and the CEO Suite itself was beautifully decorated. • Generous breakfast selection — offering both Western and Chinese options with plenty of choice. • Well-equipped gym — open 24 hours and includes a range of cardio, weight, and resistance machines. • Nice pool area — note that swim caps are required (available for purchase). The hot pool is pleasant, though its jets were not operational. • Innovative robot service — the delivery robots are a unique and fun touch, efficiently bringing requested items to your room. • Friendly and helpful staff — reception and concierge were consistently professional and accommodating. • Good executive lounge — provides snacks and drinks throughout the day and is well-suited for business travellers with its quiet work areas and meeting facilities.

Firstly the check in at this hotel is always slow and inconvenient. Doesn’t have priority check In lane. Secondly don’t book in the Accor app. Nearly always cheaper on Trip
