This is our fourth stay at this hotel and every time we have been completely satisfied. From the friendly and efficient check in to the very confortable room (the bed is just the best), Nespresso coffee, robes etc, room service was timely and quality of food very good. If I had two suggestions to make: a bit more lighting in the room itself and a full lenght mirror.

Dear Diane B., Thank you for your kind words regarding your recent stay at our hotel. We are delighted to hear that our location, service, and amenities consistently meet your expectations. Your feedback about the room lighting and the addition of a full-length mirror is appreciated, as we always strive to enhance our guests' experience. We will certainly consider your suggestions for future improvements. Thank you once again for your loyalty. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit. Best regards, Uday More Guest Relations Manager

We’ve been Fairmont supporters for many years. Now since we retired 5 years ago we haven’t had the chance to visit Fairmont hotels much so when the opportunity presented itself for us to stay at the Vancouver Airport Fairmont, we were delighted. First of all, to provide context, our plane couldn’t land in Nanaimo due to fog, so we were stuck at the airport but decided to treat ourselves to the luxury of a Fairmont experience. Check in wasn’t bad however, we were shocked a bit at the hotel price (higher than what we were used to for a basic King), so I asked if there were any discounts available for Fairmont members. The lady at check in said yes there was a 5% discount available: ok great. So we proceeded to the lounge where we spent the next couple of hours de-stressing from “trying” to land in Nanaimo!! The food was great, service from Claude exceptional, and the lounge itself was beautiful. Our experience there was wonderful. When we eventually made it to our hotel room, this is where things started to turn for the worse. First of all, I decided to check the Fairmont website to see if any other offers were valid and turns out there was. As a Canadian resident, they had a 10% discount and a $50 dining voucher. So, that pissed me off because the check in person didn’t offer it. I rectified that when we checked out but I was quite annoyed specifically because I asked when we reserved a room for the night at the check in desk. I began doing a room inspection immediately (if you don’t do this, you should start), and noted the following: - empty bottle of wine in the wine drawer - missing coffee cups - disgustingly dirty wine glass (it looks like something sticky was splashed on it) - 2 missing mini bottles of liquor from bar fridge I immediately brought the empty bottle of wine, dirty wine glass AND missing coffee cups to Housekeeping’s attention. They came and took the empty wine bottle and dirty wine glass and retrieved 2 coffee mugs for me. I said, make sure to let management know we didn’t drink the wine or mini liquors. Everything else in the room was in order but when you spend $400 on a hotel room, you expect a level of quality that matches, and clearly someone didn’t do their job when they cleaned the room. Upon checkout, when I was getting the Canadian offer to my room rate and the $50 dining credit applied to our dinner bill from the night before, I noticed the invoice still seemed high so asked to see a print off of the invoice. Sure enough, there on the invoice was a $54 charge for a 1/2 bottle of wine which we didn’t drink. Good thing I checked! So housekeeping and front desk are not communicating. Thus, I have to say that I’m disappointed in our recent experience at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport hotel and wouldn’t recommend it unless you have money to burn. Our previous experiences at Jasper, Banff, Edmonton, Toronto, downtown Vancouver and Ottawa have all been nothing but super memorial experiences. Vancouver Airport…not so much.
