Couldn't have been happier. As always the Fairmont staff is unexcelled. Room was comfortable and well equipped. Pool was fun (though the hot tub could get crowded at certain times of day. Our dinner at the Botanist was a highlight.

I booked and pre-paid for a full harbour view room prior to arriving at the hotel for check-in for a relaxing staycation. When I arrived to check-in, the woman at the front desk (Pario was her name I believe) told me the team had upgraded my stay and that I would now be in a Fairmont Gold room to which I asked if I would still have full harbour view and she said no. I told her I didn’t care for the Fairmont Gold access and wanted the full harbour view as I had booked and paid for. She then left me and my partner at the front without saying anything for around 15 minutes holding our bags until I asked another staff member where the woman went (about 4 guest had checked in and gone off during the time we were standing there.) The woman came back and said they would be able to get me into suite with full harbour view and Gold access. She then proceeded to take my credit card and process it and then some woman came up to her and then I was told the suite had been booked by someone else….I asked for clarification as she had taken my card and processed everything but proceeded to tell me someone else booked it as it was still showing in the system. At this point, my partner and I had been standing at the front desk holding our heavy bags for 30 minutes. No one had offered to take our bags off our hands. She then said they could give me a Gold room with full harbour view and I said okay. We finally got up to our room just to discover it was partial harbour view. I had pre-paid and booked a full harbour view room. I then spoke to someone name Rosie on the phone who then proceeded to ask me what I wanted from her to resolve the issue rather than providing me what I had booked and paid for. I felt this to be very rude and bad customer service. I told her I wanted what I booked and paid for and it had been 45 minutes of this at this point and the sun was setting and all my plans were getting delayed (I was only there for the one night so every minute counted). She then told me they could offer me a suite without Gold access but with full harbour view but that it would take over 1 hour to get ready…..but then somehow the suite was ready by the time my partner and I changed for the pool. I am extremely disappointed with my stay this time as I have stayed there many times before. I have never had such a bad experience at a hotel before. Then I also waited over 1 hour for a hot chocolate from the Cabana bar while everyone around me kept getting their drinks. I was told it would take 10 minutes to bring from the kitchen and I proceeded to wait outside the pool for 30 minutes before I decided to get in as I couldn’t see the server anywhere. She then came around 45 minutes later and I told her I was still waiting and then I waited another 20 minutes before getting 2 cold hot chocolates.
