We stayed at Novotel Christchurch Airport for our final night in New Zealand before our morning flight back to Singapore. The location was extremely convenient as the hotel is just a short walk from the airport terminal, which made our departure the next morning very easy and stress-free. The room was clean, modern and comfortable, and it was a great place to rest after our South Island road trip. We especially appreciated not having to worry about travelling to the airport early in the morning with our luggage. Overall, a very comfortable and convenient stay, and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone with an early morning flight from Christchurch Airport.

I am a Diamond Elite member with IHG so I was looking forward to experiencing a different hotel brand. Arriving into Christchurch airport late this seemed like the ideal place to stay with the children to give them a chance to get to bed. Intial thoughts were very positive, the location is excellent and the gentlemen on the front desk were great, even giving the children a branded soft toy which was a nice touch. The room was clean and tidy, but I must say the setup with the sliding door and wall for the bathroom is unusual, but not in a good way. We had also booked the buffet breakfast for the morning, and sadly this is where the hotel has let itself down. The venue is very nice and we were greeted by a sraff member who offered to show us around as it was our first visit. We were advised that eggs were to be ordered from the table as were coffees. That all sounded great if it wasnt for the fact we would then be totally ignored by disinterested staff for the remainder of our visit. After 30 minutes my wife walked off to find herself a coffee and I went off to ask a staff member if anyone was going to come and take our order. What made this even worse is that it wasn't even busy. We were utterly neglected. I have never experienced anything like this at an IHG venue, in fact I found it quite bizarre. I was intending to mention it to the manager when we left but noone was there as we exited. It really did let the whole stay down. On top of that I have incured a mystery $13 charge to my card. We are booked in for the evening of the 8th prior to our departing flight so I will chase that up then

I stayed the night prior to early morning departure of my international flight. The sound proofing in the room was amazing. I could see international planes had arrived directly out my window and didn't even hear them come or go. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I needed help with my luggage to airport and the staff member who brought them for me was so kind and genuine. I really appreciated his help. I had lunch in the restaurant on top floor and the food, views and service were great. I would love to stay again in the future.

From check in to check out, my two night stay was comfortable, the rooms are very clean and the 6th floor bar/restaurant is fabulous, (great local beer, Alpha Juice Hazy Pale Ale). Minor criticisms, my teabags and milk were not replenished during housekeeping and the breakfasts could do with pork sausages. 9 out of 10. Would have been a perfect score if it wasn't for those two items.

Room was great. Unfortunately my dinner experience was awful. I had to ask where my main was and when it finally arrived it was not cooked properly and I had to send it back which made me feel terrible about complaining. The staff were amazing and apologetic. I had had a huge day and spending two hours in the restaurant on my own was not a fun thing to do. But the staff did sort it.
