Breakfree on Cashel is one of those properties that perhaps 15 or 20 years ago decided to renovate with a trendy pop design sensibility that tries so hard to be “now” it dates very badly, and now feels older than it should and kinda cringe tbh. Still, it's functional if outdated and works for a night or two. Rates are reasonable but avoid the tiny windowless interior rooms unless your budget is barebones. And if you book one by mistake accept the offer to upgrade for $35 a night, it's worth the difference to have daylight coming in and a bit more space. The restaurant/bar has a buzzy atmosphere and fun informative personalities working there, but they should up their house wine brands. The strongest card this hotel has to play is the location downtown.
