We often stay at the Novotel but our last time was a bit underwhelming. However this stay the hotel had regained its mojo. Front counter staff were good but the restaurant had improved vastly with The food being delicious and of good sized portions. The maître de over the weekend was brilliant.

Very comfortable but the 13th floor was noisy with the ventilation/aircon. machinery on the roof above. I'm sure that this could be fixed with better mountings for the equipment.

Very happy with our stay. Hotel very central and staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy with nice linen. Only strange thing was bathroom set up with sink in living area very cramped area.

Good check-in and check-out. Helpful and friendly staff. Restaurant had good food and ambience but wait staff seemed to be pressured and inexperienced without support. Detracted from the stay.

Couldn't check in till nearly 5 pm? Went to the bar on the second day and no staff present for 40 minutes. The entire experience was only ok.

My stay at an Accor hotel in my home town for one night is an annual event while my carpets are professionally cleaned. On this occasion I was upgraded to the Novotel because my usual hotel was affected by covid-19. The hotel is right in the heart of Christchurch and very accessible by public transport. From arrival to checkout, everything was most enjoyable. A friend joined me for dinner and commented on the atmosphere in the restaurant, which along with the dinner itself, was excellent. I can also confirm that if your room is adjacent to the elevator shaft, you won't hear anything. The hotel was quiet and peaceful. The third Novotel in 12 months (incl Gold Coast and Parramatta) that I have stayed in. All gave great service.

The service was good, once we got there. The Novatel is in a corner across from the Cathedral and was impossible to find. There was no parking but for valet. The room wasn't horrible but it was hardly a "suite" and not worth $507.00 per night. It had a big balcony. That's about it.

We had a lovely stay at the Novotel Christchurch. The room was very comfortable with a great view. We had a rental car which was no problem to park as the hotel reception staff looked after it-we were impressed we could just hand the keys in and they took care of it at no extra charge.

We had a nice stay at the Novotel Cathedral Square. The staff are very welcoming when you arrive, nothing is too much trouble for them. The cleaners seem to be very busy but did a great job and were very approachable. The European lady who appeared to run the breakfast sessions was extremely nice and efficient, as was the man from Japan who made our coffee every morning. Parking was great and our car arrived promptly when we needed it. Overall it was a very pleasing experience. I did not mention the super king bed! What a treat.

Our room smelled terrible, like damp, musty, mildew. We had broken glass in our sink and rubbish left on the floor. Very disappointing for $220!
