I disagree with the policy of having to have a credit or debit card on file when I have already paid IN FULL through a travel agent. Not everyone has one of these cards and they shouldn't have to. I f you have a problem, then all my contact details are on file already. I was nearly ready to change hotel bookings when the person checking us in refused to accept I did NOT have either card and only a normal eftpos card.

Having stayed here several times before, I knew what to expect and wasn't disappointed. Staff were very friendly and I was pleasantly surprised to find that my room had been upgraded. Breakfast was table service because of Covid-19 and was very efficient and up to scratch. However, dinner was at the affiliated Novotel because of the restaurant not operating because of Covid-19. Also, the internet nudges 100Mbps, which is very good for hotels here. You couldn't be more handily placed to the CBD. I will return again, hopefully when things are back to normal.

We liked the cleanliness of the room and the location. But in the morning the cleaner opened our door and with a fright gasped and headed quickly back out.. only to have a knock on the door with another cleaner asking if we r checking out this morning... really?? Shld they not already know this information? We had had a vey late nite out in chch and were enjoying our sleep in as it was our forst childfree nite away in ages.... so this was dissapointing for us.

Happy staff Very clean laundry and affordable - 4 washing machines and 4 dryers so there shouldn't be anyone stopping you doing laundry when you want to do it. Very comfortable bed and good sized rooms I wasn't frustrated with anything at all. Literally 10 minutes walk to the Botanic gardens and right on the door step of some excellent Restaurants and Riverside complex and the best Book store Scorpio that I have been in for a long time. You can't go wrong with this place.

We arrived to book in and where told that we had been upgraded to the top floor due to decreased guest. The lady on the desk then went and got two biscuits for my two boys which was much appreciated!

The hotel was perfectly fine, clean, clean, tidy and relatively modern, in the COVID world we live it, it was understandable the bar wasn't open, but would've been nice if it was, a served buffet is the same also, I prefer to browse and gather my own based on what it looks like, but the staff were great

Now my go-to hotel in Christchurch because of its location and great price for being right in the centre of the CBD. This time around, there was a slight concern about the cleaning of the bathroom and the glasses in there (there's no way they'd been changed between guests - there was dried white gunk inside one of the glass that looked like a previous guest's toothbrushing spit-out - something that might not bother me so much in normal times but after receiving so many emails prior to my stay about how Accor was doing all of these extreme cleaning and sanitising measures, it felt very wrong to have dirty anything in the room, especially things that guests touch with their mouths. Surely all cups, glasses and teaspoons should be removed from rooms between guests for thorough cleaning and sanitisation, and every guest have fresh ones? A little detail that won't put me off staying here again but was a bit yuck!). Just a minor thing. Like I say, not enough to put me off staying here again or recommending it as a great hotel to stay in, but hopefully the hotel ups their efforts in meeting the standards that Accor is claiming to be meeting in all of their hotels.

Loved staying at Ibis Christchurch. Staff there was lovely and so accommodating and the location is right in the town center which is perfect as you can park your car either at hotel's car park or multiple options available around the hotel and just enjoy the walking around the town. Loved it.
