I stayed in Room 406, which was an accessible room. Unfortunately, the room had an unpleasant odour, so I had to use my own perfume to freshen it up. The bed on the side closest to the window felt like the springs had worn out – it was almost like sleeping in a hammock. As a result, I’ve had two days of back discomfort. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet was very good.

This hotel was good, clean, and not fancy, like all the other Ibis hotels we stayed in New Zealand. Upsides: location was perfect, right next to the Riverside market and trolley line. The hotel staff were very responsive and tried their best to be helpful. Shower was good with decent water pressure. Downsides: this hotel, like all the other Ibis hotels, only offers one all-in-one shampoo and shower gel for the shower, and no conditioner. Also the woman at the front desk was friendly but really struggled to understand me when I talked to her - it might have been my American accent and that she had English as a second language, but it was frustrating nonetheless.
