Good location, Nice Room

Stewart_McC22 TripAdvisor review

Went to Vienna for the Christmas markets and stayed 4 nights in the Mercure Hotel Raphael. Arrived before check-in and room wasn't ready but could use the left luggage facilities. Hotel in a quiet area - had a room overlooking Raimund Theatre. Standard Double Room with Bed and Breakfast. Room was clean and bright and relatively big. Breakfast room was small ( but nicely decorated for Christmas) and lucky to get a table every morning. Good selection of food. Breakfast staff could do with training - gave the impression they didn't want to be there. Some reception staff were friendly and helpful - others not so much. Hotel has no bar or restaurant. Hotel in a good, quiet location. 5 mins walk from Westbahnhof trainmetro station and 5 mins walk from the bottom of Mariahilferstraße - the main shopping street in Vienna. Works out better to stay in this area and use public transport than stay in more expensive central Vienna.

Disappointing.

I was disappointed with the Breakfast choice's compare with a Mercure down the road. Felt more like an IBIS than a Mercure standard. Scrambled egg was cold. Bar was also closed but wasn't told before I arrived it would be closed, not sure why it was closed as that is where we had Breakfast. On a good note Room was good but window not able to be lock shut. Staff were very helpful,

Good Stay

I come here every year and it is always as per expectation. I have though 2 comments. The quality of the breakfast this time in my opinion was less compared to previous years. The fact that the parking price has increased I don't think it is fair considering how narrow way is to get to the parking.

Nice hotel with kindly staff

Hotel is next to Maria Hilfer strasse close to metrostation with perfect localisation. Thans for upgrade to best room and free minibar. Strongly apriciated it. Only terase missing privace due to fact sharing with other room. Still missing nights and points for that stay.

Good localization

Localization is very good - near Musical Theater. Breakfast is good if you stay one ore two days. We were there four nights and...every day the breakfast was absolutely the same :(. Remember that in the hotel no bar or restaurant. While nearby one can find a lot of nice restaurant (e.g. Let's be Frank). The fitness room - small with no windows and with just one or two machines and no other equipment. In all other Mercure hotels there were "real" welcome drinks (even if no bar in the hotel), but not here. On the other hand teasing people with prosecco bottles on the shelves in breakfast area is not funny :). In summary, I will chose other hotel, one in which I will feel welcome and appreciated
