It was impossible to cool down my West facing bedroom. This make relaxing & recovering difficult without having cold showers. I’d requested an accessible shower but that didn’t happen. 8am to afternoon, I had no power in my room. This was not what I’d have expected at this hotel. The staff in the restaurant & the food was outstandingly good. Some staff at reception fell short of this customer-centred approach at times. The pool was fine & empty when I used it but extraordinary hot.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the discomfort caused by the temperature in your west-facing bedroom. I appreciate how important a comfortable room environment is for rest and recovery, and I regret that this affected your stay. I am also sorry that your request for an accessible shower was not fulfilled and that you experienced a loss of power in your room for a significant part of the day. These are certainly not the standards we aim to deliver. I am disappointed to learn that some interactions with our reception team fell short of the customer-focused service you rightly expected. Arrived for a family wedding nearby. Was told there were no rooms available in which to get changed as it was before check in time. Had to change in the ‘spa’ changing room. I say ‘spa’, but if you can imagine a typical 1970s school swimming pool community changing room, you would be pretty spot on. Oh, and despite Accor sending numerous emails asking us to check in online in advance, we were told that these don’t get forwarded to the hotel. Utterly pointless.

I am very sorry to learn that your arrival experience fell short of expectations, particularly when visiting the area for a special family occasion. I appreciate how frustrating it must have been to arrive before check-in and find that there was no suitable room available to change in. Whilst we are not always able to offer early access to guest rooms, we should ensure that alternative facilities are clean, comfortable and appropriate, and I am sorry that our leisure changing facilities did not meet your expectations. I am also sorry for the confusion surrounding the online check-in process. I understand how disappointing it is to spend time completing pre-arrival information only to be told that it was not available to the hotel on arrival. This is a really nice hotel, with spacious rooms and well appointed. It has spacious grounds, and a large car parking area. However it is not air-conditioned, making the hot summer nights unpleasant. The hotel could be even nicer if the management accepts this recommendation :- Provide every room with a portable air cooler which vents to the outside. British climate is changing to very hot summers. You have to introduce air cooling, even if you do not wish to introduce air conditioning. A small fridge in every room with cold water would be very useful.
