Everything was fine except for the lighting in the room. The lights were dull and could not be adjusted to enable me to work comfortably especially as I had an eye problem and wore glasses. There was no light near the table to enable me to sit at the desk to work and no ceiling lights to support the work that I was doing. This meant that I had to go to bed earlier than I wanted due to the difficulty experienced with the dullness of the lights and lamps. The lights in the bathroom was suitable.

At the rate of £72, one would expect a decent room. For starters upon entering the room i was greeted with a very disgusting bodly dirty carpet, which was mind blowing. Secondly the bed in the room was tacky, I've never gone to any hotel here in the UK, the USA or the Caribbean and seen a bed with a sponge like thing, not sure how to describe it, being placed on a matress that was obviously not the best. Then the bed was made using the sheet to hold the sponge like thing to the matress, which was not even done neatly to conceal the decievement, add to that the poor and cheap quality sheet and so-called duvet cover that was on the bed was highly upsetting because there was absolutely no warmth in them, it was so cold. I reported it to front desk and tho I did not get the name of the receptionist that was on over night duty, I can say she sure had an attitude. A very nice gentleman by the name of Tommy was sent to the room to confirm my complaints. Straight away he saw the carpets and the bed, apologized and offered to switch rooms, he was very pleasant, understanding and courteous. However it turns out that the beds in Ibis Hotel are all the same, very sad and disappointing. I managed to get a bit of sleep after Tommy assisted me with an electrical heater to bring more warmness in the room and to the bed.

A lovely hotel in the middle of Northampton, convenient for nearly everything, train, football, rugby and spoons. The hotel was full when we were there but it was extremely quiet at night. The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. The staff were excellent and very polite thank you
