I have been an Accor silver member for some time, and before Covid, a Gold member for many years. I was somewhat disappointed when I requested my Welcome drink, the only white wine offered was a small glass of House White, and the barmaid could not tell me what type of wine it was. I have not encountered this “rule” before and it was not very welcoming! We have stayed in this hotel before and the restaurant was closed, only bar meals being offered. On this occasion the same applied, again, not a very positive experience.

The staff at the Mecure Daventry are very welcoming and friendly and we appriciated being accommodated with our dog. The bar are and food was excellent if a little pricey at £41 for a bottle of wine! The room is comfortable but could do with a little updating and care with cleaning. The duvet was marked and there was mould around the bath and dust on the furniture, however, we slept fine and would recommend if the room clenliness was improved.

The hotel has great potential but on a one night stay we were unimpressed

We had a lovely stay at the Daventry. I booked it as a surprise for my husband’s Birthday. We stayed Monday to Friday. The hotel is very nice. Okay, there are areas in need of a little update. This, however did not affect our stay. The staff are amazing! So polite and helpful. They even gave us advice on local areas and attractions to visit. The food was very good and the service was absolutely excellent. We used the pool, which was very nice. It was a shame the jacuzzi had been filled in. I remembered this from a previous stay when the hotel was under Barcelo. The hotel is a good base to visit many things. We visited Canons Ashby (National Trust), the Daventry national park and the British Motor Museum. We loved our stay and will definitely return.
