Stay was lovely, food very good, downside were the beds and water pressure, been 7 times for 5nights over the last 18months always the same issues don’t think they want to fix the issues that would make it perfect

When checking in I requested a room in a quiet area. I was assured the room allocated was. It was right on the main road with a set of traffic light directly outside and the traffic was constant with cars stopping and starting and radios thumping all night. I appreciate you can't control the traffic but maybe your team need to be aware of which rooms offer the quieter option so requests can be better fulfilled.

Booked the hotel for an overnight stay well in advance and paid for our dog when we book. When we got the hotel after a 6 hour drive, we were met with a rude and abrupt receptionist who insisted I had to pay for my dog because I hadn’t paid when I booked. I should her my booking confirmation from Accor where it clearly showed the room rate and the the pet charge and I showed her the payment confirmation but she insisted the hotel had no notification for the pet and I had to pay. We had to wait about 10 maybe 15 minutes while she “investigated” adamant the whole time I had only paid for the dog. What I found strange is that she had notification for my booking for a parking space, something that I had not paid for and a reservation I made a couple days before, but she had notification notice of the pet charge on the actual booking. Finally after a long wait when she finished her investigation and me insisting I wasn’t going to pay for the pet charge again, she said oh I’ve managed to find it now, no apology or acknowledgement that we had been standing for an unnecessarily long period of time. I would have thought after I showed her the payment and reservation confirmation, she would have let us check in rather than making us stand there and patronise us and done her investigation afterwards. There are phones in the rooms, she could have called us afterwards and said there was an error sorry or the payment didn’t go through can you come back to reception. This put a downer on the whole experience before we when got to the room. The stay room was good and what I expected. The next morning when we went down for breakfast and we were greeted by a very loud gentleman who shouted across the restaurant for asking for our room number. My partner and I walked in together and there was no one before or after us, my partner responded with the room number and he insisted I had to give my room number as well. I’m not sure if he thinks two men can’t be together or they can’t stay in the same room, but that was an awkward and strange exchange in front of other guests having breakfast, especially considering how loud this man was speaking. A normal question would have been, are you guys together, in a normal voice. The breakfast was good but what was extremely disappointing was the terrible smell of sweat this man was wafting around the room. We had to cross paths a few times while we were in the restaurant and the awful smell of BO was not what we were expecting first thing in the morning. And to top it all off he continued to speak very loudly to the chef planning the rest of the day and how unfortunate it was that they were expecting guests for afternoon tea. We enjoyed our breakfast albeit with the scent of BO in the air and a loud conversation about the inconvenience of guests coming to the restaurant. We honestly couldn’t wait to go back to the room and check out.

Breakfast finishes too early. On one morning both coffee machines were not working, there were no bowls, no takeaway cups and the overall place was untidy. Some staff were excellent, but there was a lot of loud chatting from two of the staff which was distracting.
