Broken Showers , Water Pooling Badly in Bath, No Safe, Broken Light switches and no mirror in room were just a selection of the issues found in my room and the irony is as a Gold or Platinum Member for May years I selected this hotel as a choice to use during attendance at a funeral of a close family member so I was disgusted as the condition of the room during my stay

My wife and I stopped in Cardiff for one night on our way to Pembrokeshire and to take in a football match. The location is good, reaosonably handy for the city centre and easy to find. The restaurant was excellent in dealing with my wife's awkward dietry needs with a helpful, friendly waitress (Evie) who was also running the bar and equally good chef. One criticism of our room was that there was no fan in the bathroom, so it became very steamed up when the two of us had showers. Overall however we had an enjoyable stay.

Reception and check in good. Car park needs better signage for how to access and exit. our room overlooked the car park and at busy hours it was obvious many people were having trouble with what they needed to do. Dining room for breakfast was good and food was plentiful and the hot food was hot which for some hotplate buffets isn't always the case. Always easy to get a seat. Room was spacious and clean. On our last day the breakfast manager (we assume) was on his phone too much leaving it to other staff to welcome the guest when they were trying to clean/tidy etc. Just not a good look. A bit of TLC might not go amiss with a bit of touch up painting required and the corridor to room has definitely seen better days. Location is reasonable as only a 20 minute walk to the centre.

easy parking onsite. very welcoming staff on reception. Nice food last minute ordered in the restaurant on evening of stay with friendly bar staff. Room clean, tidy. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Would have been nice to have had some bottle water in the fridge. Breakfast good choice and only downside the food not hot enough on the hot plates. pool area nice. Had a room with double bed and sofa bed as worked out cheaper than room without the sofa bed. Was staying with a friend, as we had sofa bed wondered last minute if our eighteen year old daughters could stay as arrival for the start of university. I did phone one day to enquire and lady was difficult to understand and there was a surcharge. However, thought I double check so I emailed prior to enquire if last minute stay for them fine but was informed only children eligible. Seems a shame when the room appears spacious, accommodate more than two as room big enough. Would recommend.

Really poor stay. Booked for 4 nights. Couldn’t sleep at all. No aircon in the rooms even those it’s a superior Queen. Told reception I needed a fan late afternoon and wasn’t given one. He said to put the thermostat on and it hot air was coming out. Really poor service.

On a long holiday from Australia, when we arrived at Novotel Cardiff a day earlier than originally booked, it could have been a problem. No problem for Eilidh and Sabina to sort out - seamless. When I left my phone on the bar, David and the team sorted that stressful situation without issue.

I have been in many Novotel hotels in many countries and my experience was always better than in this hotel. I asked for sleepers and the answer was a dry "we don't provide sleepers to your type of room". The staff in the restaurant was very helpful and nice.

The hotel is past its sell by date and for the price it is disappointing and well in need of a complete modernisation.
The corridors and the rooms are dated.
The bathroom especially was very disappointing with features that needed changing and a complete makeover needed.

All good, but your rooms get too hot, fans dn't help, and windows dont open far enough for air to venitale the rooms. Its pretty common across many hotels and needs to be improved as its becoming something I can no longer tolerate. Eiliah was super nice and brilliant team member.
