Very disappointing stay a real let down. This hotel was extremely disappointing and nowhere near what I expected from a highly rated hotel on TripAdvisor and a Novotel. The property is very dated and, more importantly, not clean. There was visible mold up the shower walls, dirty skirting boards, and overall poor cleanliness throughout the room. The tiles on the floor in our bathroom were broken/wobbly and the sink did not drain properly. The fan in the room didn't work and there was no heating. Service was also slow and inattentive with simple requests for toilet roll and towels being ignored. For the price we paid and reputation of the Novotel group I expected much better standards, but this hotel did not deliver at all. There are definitely better hotels in Cardiff than this one

Awful hotel would never recommend this place. Be prepared for visiting a dog sanctuary!! Even in the bar and restaurant!

This place is more like a dog sanctuary they are everywhere even in the bar and restaurant barking their heads off! Bar closed at 11pm on both nights which included New Years Eve(Covid rules apparently) I know it’s been cold but when everyone is sitting in the bar and restaurant with their coats on then it’s to cold. Check in at 3 pm no chance room not ready and staff not having no clue when it will be ready. Ruined our New year break completely.

We arrived with high expectations. It was a busy holiday period and we understood that. But the noise in the room was constant and impossible to ignore. Loud sounds came through the walls and through the air vents. We could not rest. Our sleep was interrupted many times during the night. On the second day we went to the pool and spa area to relax. The sauna was not working and it was completely cold. The button did nothing. The jacuzzi button also did not work. We returned to the room and tried to rest again. The sound insulation was terrible and we could not sleep. The minibar did not work either. We had booked two nights. On the second night we had no choice but to leave the hotel. At check-out the receptionist asked if everything was okay. We explained all of the problems. There was no real apology or solution. That was extremely disappointing. This hotel does not meet basic service standards. Problems are ignored instead of being fixed. We travelled from London to Cardiff for a holiday. Instead we left with stress frustration and a very negative experience. We returned to London early. Truly disappointing.

Very disappointed. We are faithful members and have stayed here with our children shortly after Christmas for many years. We booked an executive room for some more space because our eldest is now 13, and we have always had one double and two single beds in an executive room. But this time there was one double and one very small sofa bed which was not much bigger than a single bed, not bug enough for a 13 year old and a 9 year old.The room was much smaller than usual, to the point where the bathroom door opened right into the side of the double bed. It was no bigger than a standard room so I can’t understand how it can be considered executive. Other usual features were missing such as bathrobes. The pool was overrun and the lack of visible written rules meant that toddlers and young children children were constantly in and out of the sauna and steam room. Such a shame. The room should bot be considered an executive room.
