The hotel is within a walking distance from the centre of town and has a nice canal walk nearby the bedroom was spacious and clean but sleeping was difficult due humming noise all through the night, guess due to running machinery. The reception and dining area was very noisy. It appears it was designed to be reverberant.

However, I am very sorry that your sleep was affected by the humming noise during the night. We arrived at 2.40pm and we had checked in online the day before as advised to do by the hotel to ensure the room was ready. I went to the desk and asked if the room was ready I understand I’m 20 minutes early but often hotels would have the rooms ready by then. The room wasn’t ready and I was told to sit and wait and return to the desk at 3pm. I returned to the desk at 3pm to be told it still wasn’t ready and to sit and wait and someone would come find me when it was ready, I’m still waiting, after 40 minutes I went back to the desk as we were meeting our daughter and wanted time to freshen up before going out no apology for the wait and after lots of typing on the computer finally had a room but no info about breakfast times or anything. I don’t know why I didn’t just book a travel lodge or premier inn as the service was similar and the rooms weren’t any different to one but I thought as a treat I would pay a bit more and book something nicer. Next time I won’t bother. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

Love this hotel however went on a bank holiday weekend and the pool area was very full with families. Children were being allowed to go into steam room, sauna and gym. Jacuzzi was not available so unfortunately not a very relaxing area as previously experienced.
