While the staff was extremely pleasant and the hotel lobby, dining area, and gym/pool/sauna area were magnificent, that is where the luxury stopped - the room itself did not match the expectation of the photos online. It was old/outdated, the carpet was worn and stained, the furniture was also old (specifically the bed), the television was incredibly small with cords hanging down, and there was a strange odor in the room. This is the reason I checked out early. To make matters worse, upon checking out around 11:30am, I was charged for one full additional night as a punishment for ending my reservation early, instead of simply paying a late checkout fee.

I find the hotel nicely located but the overall experience was quite poor. The lift system is slow and very badly organized and it take too long to go up or down. the Gym is horrible terribly hot with 3 apparatus please do not name it a Fitness center. I almost collpase in because of humidity and temperature. The breakfast is very standard for such a hotel I would excpet a better quality. Fianlly the wors the room. Everything is old and outdated, not enoughs plugs, no services in the room at Mercure Standard. The blanket are so small that I had to order another one to cover me. Impossible to set the temperature. Can you provide proper blanket like in any European room that are attached to the bed and not just put on the bed with a size of a mircosize.
