The young female check-in receptionist informed me that she would allocate my room. So my special room request emailed directly to Leeds Ibis Styles had not been considered, actioned or even acknowledged. I had booked and paid for a King room. The receptionist said she had never heard of a King room and that she had allocated me a Double room. I said that I had requested a quiet room on a higher floor. She chose to give me an odd numbered 3rd floor room overlooking the car park. The following day I had put 2 signs on my door "Skip the Clean" and do not disturb. Despite this, a maintainance man banged on my door, waking me up from my afternoon nap, wanting to change the air-con filter. He apologised and said he could return another day.

While we always do our best to note and accommodate special requests such as quieter rooms or higher floors, these are subject to availability at the time of arrival and cannot always be guaranteed. Regarding the room type, we would like to clarify that at this hotel a “King Room” and a “Double Room” refer to the same room category and bed type. The terminology can vary across different booking platforms, but internally we use “Double Room” for this category, which can understandably lead to confusion. We also apologise that your request for a quieter, higher-floor room was not fulfilled to your preference. Allocation is based on availability on the day, and we understand this was disappointing given your expectations. Finally, we’re very sorry for the disturbance caused by maintenance entering your room despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign. This is not the standard we aim to uphold, and we will be reinforcing procedures with our team to ensure guest privacy and DND requests are strictly respected. We also aim to schedule any non-urgent maintenance work more carefully to avoid interrupting guests’ rest. We appreciate your comments, as they help us improve both our communication and service.

Both myself and a colleague who have been using this hotel since inception ( 2017 ) have noted to fall off in staff customer service and the high turnover of staff

Stayed for two nights to attend a concert and have a city break - staff really helpful at all times. Food lovely and rooms great. Was really impressed all round and heartily recommend. Will be back!

Very comfortable and welcoming staff. Located amazing we walked everywhere. Even left the car at home and got the train. Completely stress free stay. Only downside we had was the plumbing problem. There was a leak and the water was turned off so I couldn’t get a shower when I wanted but I had no issue waiting. I’m sure some people would kick off about this but stuff happens and it was no one’s fault. Overall very happy with our stay:)
