when i pick a place to stay, of course i enjoy the view and the location of the stay, but i am always nervous to find out how week the customer service will be. at SOfitel it was amazing! everyone was kind and helpful with us and it made the trip and stay all worth it for me . thank you to the staff especially the gentleman who brought my luggage down and waited outside for my uber !!

This was our second time booking with Sofitel visa the AmEx Fine hotel and resorts program. We arrived shortly after noon and there was no problem getting the included early check in. Carlos greeted us in the underground entry area and took our bags right away, sending us to the check in counter on the 14th floor. Even though the place was hopping busy, he kept an eye on us and the moment we were ready he accompanied us to our suite and helped us get settled in, explaining all the features of the beautiful room. We certainly appreciated the excellent service we received from the moment we stepped onto the property from him. We were efficiently helped at the front desk by Rodrego who was very friendly and took several moments to look for a way to upgrade our room category as the one above ours was booked up, and to my pleasant surprise we were place in a Junior Suite. Rodrego took some time to chat with us and explain the benefits included with our program including the buffet breakfast (which was very good). We also got $125 USD credit but I did note on our room folio after check out, only $114 was applied on my aprox $140 hotel spend, and I am not sure why that was. Perhaps how an exchange rate was applied? Regardless, it is all an excellent value when you add the benefits all up, and in combination with the exceptional service at Sofitel, this has become our favorite hotel in a city that is full of excellent and interesting hotels.  We did get our welcome ammenity late that evening, after we got back that night a note had been left at our door saying they did not want to enter the room but we were not sure why as we did not mark the room with the privacy button or 'do not enter'. I called the number on the card, but it took 45-50 minutes for the gift to arrive, a lovely bottle of red wine but by this point it was simply too late in the evening for us to have it. I do wish it had been delivered to the room during the daytime so we could have enjoyed it. The fine chocolates that came with it were delicious, and I am not complaining but the late night delivery meant we could not use the lovely gift to it's fullest. We tried the new L'Octain lounge, which had some very interesting and delicious cocktails and beer. Stylish and comfortable, with great service as well. We had tried to go to Freehouse speakeasy on our previous trip but it was closed, and so this time we made a reservation. When we arrived for our reservation, we were told it was booked for a private function (it did apprear there was at least 1 wedding party at this hotel that night). It's not a huge deal, but, we had literally cut short our other plans outside of the hotel in order to get back in time for our reservation at Freehouse, so it was a little off putting to be denied at the door.  By then it was raining and we had given up our prime seats at the restaurant we had been at, so we did not want to go back out to find another/new place to go. It was disappointing to be told no for a reservation we had confirmed earlier that same day. Based on this I would have given the hotel 9/10, but overall our experience was excellent and the management and staff are clearly working hard to provide the best service possible. We will return to Sofitel on our next DF visit.

At the same time, I sincerely appreciate your balanced and honest feedback regarding the welcome amenity timing and your experience with the Freehouse reservation. I completely understand how disappointing it must have felt to adjust your plans around a confirmed reservation only to discover the venue had been privatized upon arrival. While private events occasionally require operational adjustments, this should have been communicated proactively and more thoughtfully. Regarding the amenity delivery, I also understand your point completely. A gesture intended to enhance the evening loses part of its magic when delivered too late to fully enjoy it. Your comments are very fair and genuinely helpful for us to improve these details moving forward. As for the FHR credit discrepancy, it may indeed be linked to exchange rate calculations or eligible charges applied to the folio, though I understand how this can create confusion. What means the most to us is knowing that despite these imperfections, you still felt the dedication and genuine effort of our team throughout your stay. The check in/out processes were smooth, the service was as excellent as expected. I didn't enjoy jumping on different elevators to get to my room though.

The Sofitel is a wonderful hotel. Even before we arrive the Concierge service (via WhatsApp) was tremendously helpful. They assisted us with booking difficult restaurant reservations, provided us with a great list of attractions that we can book and were very informative. Once we arrived, the service continued to impress.
