Lovely stay, until check out. My husband was attending a 4 day conference hosted at the hotel. He paid for the upgrade to include the VIP lounge (I don't remember what it was actually called), because I was going to be working from the room, and he would be in conference meetings until after the standard check out time on the day we were leaving so having late check out was important. When we tried to confirm the late check out, which had been presented to us as part of the package and not something that may not be available, we were told we had to be out at 11:00. My husband had to leave his conference to pack up and help me move out of the room. I didn't have time to take a shower or properly get ready for the day. It was incredibly frustrating, completely disrupted both of our work days, and all we got was a couple young gals saying 'sorry, you should have been told when you checked in'. It was shocking for a hotel that works so hard to give guests a nice experience to have had this happen.

We also recognize that the situation could have been handled with greater care and empathy, particularly given the inconvenience it caused you both.

We came to the Sofitel Mexico City Reforma to celebrate my birthday. The stay was absolutely amazing. For my birthday they gave me balloons and some cute cookies. With our stay we were granted access to the club level which was well worth the splurge. The food and drink were delicious. Everyone was so friendly and kind. The staff really went over and beyond.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Sofitel in Mexico City. It is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in and while in part it is the unbelievable location, incredible building, and beautiful dining outlets, the people made it truly wonderful.
Romiro was our bellman who welcome us, took us to the room and made us feel truly at home with an explanation of our room and the hotel.

From checkin to check out, it was one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel. All the staff was extremely helpful, especially Valentina at the concierge employee. She was quick to help and quick to answer any questions. I was especially impressed with her willingness to assist even when it was not something she was familiar with, she was quick to research and learn more about how to answer any questions I had. Over all the stay was exceptional. There were a few hiccups. While using the blow drier in our room the power/fuse blew out. As a result of the power outage we could not contact anyone by phone. I sent a text message to you but received no response. It was a bad situation. We were getting ready to attend a private event hosted on your rooftop bar. We were forced to go to the 14th floor in person to report the problem.
We were booked in a room with the club level benefits. We enjoyed it. However, for two days of our stay the club was closed because of a "Street Fighter" event. We were directed to one of your other restaurants but only after showing up on the 36th floor in the morning. We had no advanced notice and it was confusing with all the folks on the 36th floor. It took a moment to get answer. And, we were told it would be open the following day. It was not.
The service was wonderful. Nonetheless, we were not advised that the bellman was a separate charge. The bellman simple loaded our bags on the cart and took them. ( charged to our account several days after we checked-in) Likewise the maid service was charged separately each day. We were not advised in advance that the maid service was a separate charge.
We were happy to tip the folks providing services to us. The separate charges, even though small, felt like being nickled and dimed without being told.
Your bellman Edwardo was a standout. He was very helpful in every way. He alone would have us come back to your hotel.

Our experience with Sofitel hotel in Mexico City can best be described as life enlightening as the entire staff, setting and experience brought memories and intangible experiences to a new height all surrounding Mexico City! The staff first of all are truly authentic without trying too hard but naturally making guest comfortable and creating entire warmth in the environment.
