I booked a room with a kitchenette that featured a decal saying "Feels Like Home," yet it was completely empty of any cookware. To actually use the kitchenette, you have to rent cooking utensils from the front desk, which is mind-boggling and defies all logic. On top of that, most ibis hotels I’ve stayed at usually provide cups and an electric kettle for hot water. Here, not only were there no kitchen utensils, but there wasn't even a single cup, let alone a kettle. How on earth are guests supposed to drink water in a hotel room without even a cup?

Arrived approximately 1.20pm and when I was eventually acknowledged after being ignored for a long time, got told to come back at 3pm. Asked to leave my bag which was not offered but the hotel agreed begrudgingly. Asked if I could check in early as part of my Accor gold status and was told no not possible and no further information given. Staff very unhelpful and not forthcoming with information. Went out for the day around Konstanz using both bus and train and it wasn’t until after I checked in when I came back that evening that I was sent an email saying that transport within the local network for hotel guests is free. Why was I not told this when I arrived in the afternoon? Staff couldn’t care less at this hotel, felt like an inconvenience. Very poor.

I write to provide feedback regarding our check-in experience today at ibis Styles Konstanz. I got a follow-up email that they would check into things but received nothing beyond that. This is for the record: When we arrived it was around 2:25 PM. There were two employees at the front desk. One employee informed us that she was finishing her shift and that her colleague would assist us. After the colleague finished helping another guest, she told us she could help, but then immediately asked us to “wait a few seconds.” While this alone would not normally be an issue, the interaction that followed felt unnecessarily tense and uncomfortable. I presented my passport and explained that we had a booking, possibly listed under NOVAT GmbH. I also showed the reservation and stated that the booking was for ibis Styles. The employee then stated that I had said “ibis Budget.” I clarified that I had not said this, but she continued to insist that I had. My wife was present for the exchange as well. We noted her name tag, which read “Florentine”, which matched the Florentine Döring who had previously messaged us through Booking.com (see previous email below). Florentine then asked for my address, phone number, and email address. I said that this information should already be attached to the booking. She stated that it was not, so I dictated the information. She then asked me to write it down. I later confirmed with Booking.com that the hotel should receive the reservation number, name, address, email address, and phone number, and I was listed as the main guest in the booking information. I understand that hotel systems do not always display information perfectly, and I have no objection to confirming details when needed. However, the way this was handled felt argumentative and dismissive rather than helpful. At no point did the employee explain that the information was missing from the system or simply ask us to confirm it for registration purposes. Instead, the interaction made us feel as though we were being treated as confused and difficult guests when we were only trying to check in. I do not expect luxury-hotel service, but I do expect a basic level of professionalism and courtesy at check-in. This is not how a front-desk interaction should be handled in a customer-service environment. I shared the above so that management is aware of the incident and can address it appropriately with this particular staff member.

Very disappointing stay. The hotel is located far from the city centre, making it quite inconvenient for sightseeing. The staff were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately that was the only positive aspect of our experience. The breakfast was extremely poor. Food and drinks were not replenished, even when containers were completely empty. The jam dispensers stayed empty throughout breakfast, leaving our children with very few options. The juice was so diluted that it barely tasted like juice, and the coffee was among the worst we’ve had in a hotel. Without a doubt, the best part of our stay was checking out.

If we could share anything to improve: 1) A jug kettle would be great especially those with a toddler (to prepare formula) 2) Cleaning could be done more thoroughly (on day 3 of our stay, we were surprised to see the room was cleaned only partially, the bed on living room wasn’t folded, soap/shampoo weren’t refilled, toilet wasn’t cleaned, and one access card beside the door was taken 3) Breakfast could have more variety. The scrambled eggs were dry too 4) During our stay at midnight, we could hear loud noises from the hallway/above our room, not sure what was that 5) In addition, when we booked the accommodation, we weren’t aware that we had to pay euros15/day for utensils. I feel it should be mentioned somewhere

Good bed, quiet room despite directly on the street. No light switch in bathroom, only motion detector. Going to the bath at night and full light is switched on. Bathroom door closes automatically with heavy slam. Difficult if you don't want to wake your partner.

The hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants and supermarkets. If you are lucky, you can even find free parking outside the hotel. The only issue was the housekeeping. On the first day, we told the staff that the room did not need to be cleaned and that they only had to take out the trash, but this was not done. On the second day, we requested a full room cleaning, but by 5 p.m. the room still had not been cleaned.

Really enjoyed the hotel, we thought the outdoor area was done really nice and comfortable. The room was super clean and we thought the little kitchen such a good idea, though 15€ a day for cutlery etc is way to experiensive. Like i say the toiletpaper was probably the cheapest you can get.

Well located and good rooms but cleaning not done in several days. We complained and they remove dirty stuff but didn't bring clean towels and bedsheets. At midnight staff of reception very kindly solved problem of this job not done during daytime.

Late afternoon arrival and mid morning departure so not a lot of time. The room air conditioning was working but did not cool the room. When the window was opened we had mosquitos in the room.
