Very much appreciated our stay at the Ibis Singen. Staff was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Room was spotless and the bed was good. Only minor issue was getting the temperature in the room right and never really figured that out.

The location is good and with good parking and facilities the hotel sounds fine. But I was disappointed with the below aspects 1) On the day of arrival (16/08/2024) I had called the hotel reception more than 10 times from 10 am till 14 to no avail. The phone was initially not reachable and then it went to automated message, never to be answered although I always selected the option to reach the reception. Finally around 15:00, I could reach someone in the reception and I must be honest, she was not very helpful with the response. 2) I had booked two rooms in my booking and expected to have rooms at least in the same floor. I had checked in late around 21:15 (I had told the lady over phone that I would arrive only late) and when I checked in we were given 1 room on the 1st floor and another room on the 4th floor at the opposite end of the hotel. These were literally the two far placed rooms in the hotel. When I asked the man at the reception about this, he mentioned that since I arrived late, adjoining rooms on the floor were already given to other guests and this was the only option available. He also continued that there was a room next to ours on the first floor which was empty, but it had not been cleaned after the guests checked out and hence was not available. In the end we had no other choice but to have these 2 distant rooms and have the family stay spread across. I see this as a management / planning failure. When there is a two room booking why can’t you leave at least rooms on the same floor free for that booking rather than allocating them to individual booking and putting us, a family in two extreme locations? I had also done the online check in via app and still the hotel did nothing to allocate us rooms nearby. Had the rooms even been in the same floor we would have been happy, but this was really inconvenient.. 3) There are basically no amenities in the room. I am talking about things like a closed wardrobe or closet or even a telephone line to either contact the reception or call room-to-room, a fridge or even a bottle of water which is a standard in any hotel. I am not sure why such things are missing in Ibis Styles 4) The AC was not working when we checked in and being in the summer heat, lack of AC was something that we could not think of. The panel on the wall was all black and we had no option to view which settings to use. I had to walk down go to the reception to ask about this as there was no other option to contact the reception from the room. The person tried to set things working, but it never got cold and being the weekend I was told, there was no one to come and check things and hence in the summer we had no AC for 2 days in the hotel during the holidays ! Wonderful isn't it :) 5) Room gets cleaned only if we hang the card asking the maintenance team to clean this. This was absolutely new for me and over many many travels and stays that I have had in many hotels, I have never seen such a procedure. Even in small home stays, this is not a norm and I wonder why Ibis Styles choose such an operation. The lack of cleaning clearly shows in the up keep of the rooms. I have stayed in other Ibis Styles and have had great experiences, but this was an exception . The name says its a new opening, but nothing in the room was new and in fact there was spider web and insects in the room which showed a lack of maintenance. This stay has disappointed me and I will be more careful when making more booking with Ibis Styles.

Terrible stay

After check in, we were placed on the fourth floor. There was no wifi and no air-conditioning. It was almost 30 degrees that day. Almost suffocated in that room. Went to reception to ask for a new room. They brought me one floor lower to another room. Also no air-conditioning and discussed that the room really will cool down.The receptionists were acting that they never have heard about this problem. I ask other guests of the hotel and they also complained about that there was no air conditioning. I went directly to the reception and demanded to cancel the rest of the booking. Had to wait for one before they were willing to cancel the rest of the booking and refund the money Never book this hotel, unless you want to sleep in a sauna

The hotel was well located within 10-15 min walk to the train station and to the central. Having Lidl close to the hotel was a big plus. Mr. Thomas was especially helpful to provide tips of getting around and where to go. As a first time visitor to Singen, this was particularly helpful. The rooms were good sized. It would be helpful if there was a smaller towel supplied.
