Ours was a stay of two halves. The location was perfect.. easy to walk around Candolim from there to explore the many bars and restaurants. The customer service was outstanding. We were made to feel very special and very welcome by all members of staff regardless of status from housekeeping, pool attendants, restaurant staff, reception, spa and management.. everyone went out of their way to ensure we are were looked after during our stay. Dining was excellent and spa treatment was wonderful. However, our stay was marred by the extensive construction works and renovations taking place. We became aware of these works just after we had booked our holiday.. by browsing the hotel website. This was not raised by our booking agent and when we asked about this we were assured that our holiday would not be affected. Sadly this was not the case. Approx half of the hotel bedrooms were screened off for upgrading. The grand staircase was closed which meant access to pool area was through the dining area and pool washrooms were closed. The entire rear of the hotel was covered in scaffolding. The main issue was the noise of the works taking place.. drilling, banging, noisy workmen on site from 8am to 8pm.. weekends and public holidays included. Now we don’t tend to spend a lot of time in our rooms when on holiday, but when we do we expect some peace and tranquility and certainly don’t expect to be woken up by drilling! But even by the poolside there was no escape from the noise or latterly the strong paint fumes. Also.. our room location.. first floor immediately adjacent to the lift. Ok we arrived at 3am in the morning, but perhaps a wee bit of consideration could have been given to the fact that we were staying for 14 days, and given us a quieter location away from the constant ding dong of the lift doors opening/ closing for other guests. We did not raise the noise issue with the hotel staff as apart from a relocation to another hotel, there was obviously very little they could have done to rectify the situation since this is obviously quite a major refurbishment taking place, If the hotel group hàd been more open and transparent about this from the outset it might have influenced our choice of accommodation in Goa.

The quality of the room and the furniture in the room was sub standard. Table was worn out with small damages in many places. Other wise we had nice experience

The room was assigned near construction site. The workers were working during the night. The workers access door was kept open near the room entrance. It should be closed. There was a construction barricade kept near room entrance which was dirty with construction materials. Overall first impression was not that good due to construction. Otherwise I would have rated 9. I had to do multiple follow ups for 2 days to change the room. Then I got the room changed. The restaurant staffs were good.
