On checking in we weren't able to access the car park as the fob wasn't working, we had to wait for someone to exit so we could get in. Staff tried to fix it but took ages. The unit smelled disgusting, the carpet was filthy. We went to get a spare pillow from the cupboard and there was a blood stain on it. I would never stay here again

The experience has gone down hill since the change of management. The after hours check in experience did not set a good first impression. I tried to ring the phone number listed on the Sebel website several times before I arrived to enquire about after hours check in procedures but the phone never got through. I suspect the number is no longer current. On arrival, there was no one at the reception desk (prior to the change in management reception was 24 hours) but a phone, an after hours number listed for emergency contact and a payment terminal. There was no choice but to ring the the number listed even though I would not call checking in after hours an emergency. I think it went through to an overseas call operator who proceeded to give me instructions on what do to over the phone including sending my ID to an email address, paying the deposit over the terminal and providing me with the pins to the key safe and passcode to access my apartment. Although the staff on the phone was courteous, I found the whole process cumbersome and complicated. This would be even more challenging for visitors who may not have English as their first language or people with special needs or the elderly. There were issues with the kettle and the soap dispenser in the shower was empty when I first arrived in the apartment. These issues were promptly address when raised with reception the next day. But the bedside lamps never worked during my stay despite me notifying the reception staff about it. I also feel that the apartment is due for a refresh as there was mould in the shower and some tiles are chipped in the bathroom. It is such a pity that the Sebel apartment block which is so centrally located and have so much potential has reduced to such a state. There is plenty of competition around Chatswood and I don't feel that the Sebel will have many return customers if it continues its operations as it is.

I have stayed at Sebel Chatswood on many occasions, and over that time I have seen a slow decline. Used to get a bag containing the welcome drink but the last two visits no drinks provided. Was only advised a day or so out from the arrival date that the pool was unavailable, despite signage in the lifts indicating that this was a planned outage. In the apartment there were only 3 pillows for 2 people. The cutlery was depleted - eg only 3 forks etc. there was only one chair on the balcony. When I was trying to leave for carpark for the final time (after checkout and returning the fob with assurances that it would be easy exit) I had trouble with the intercom and I tried to phone reception and it was constantly engaged. I had to send my daughter back to the lift to speak to reception in person.

I booked for 3 nights a pre-paid room with breakfast on the website. A couple of days later I received an email telling me the pool was not going to be available during my visit. This was clearly something that had been known well before I booked but was not clearly stated on the website when I was booking. The room was ok but dated and quite dirty in places. When I went to ask about breakfast they handed me a box with a few assorted items. Again, this was not clearly stated when I booked and to me does not qualify as a proper breakfast worth paying extra for. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and none of this was their fault. For the price I expected much better. I won’t be booking my next stay here.
