We encountered issues with reception staff regarding a holding deposit. We were not informed that it was $50, when other hotels simply take a $1 to record card details. We had a two-night stay, one of which was a free night. I was surprised to notice, upon checking my credit card app on the second morning, that one night's accommodation had been charged to the card. When I enquired why this charge was made, I was advised that the hotel had had issues in the past with cards being tendered for recording purposes and then the guest had left without checking out. The card tendered was rejected when staff processed the transaction and the hotel was left out of pocket and had to write off the account. I do appreciate the reasons for doing this, but it should be explained to guests by reception staff upon check in, and that a pending charge for each night's accommodation would be processed on a daily basis. This charge was removed, and the correct charges were processed on checkout. despite this experience, our stay was enjoyable, and we would wish to compliment the staff of the Dalby Bistro for their helpful and courteous attention and service.

A little disappointed our first night of 2 nights to have no TV reception or ability to stream movies on the movie channel. Everything was tried however not until lunchtime the next day was it resolved. No fault of staff. Overall the hotel needs an upgrade and smart TVs are needed.
