Overall experience was poor. Ive been to alot of Accor Hotels, and also Novotel in other city. But this one is probably the least maintained. The elevator buttons were so horrible, i had to press it so many times to just go down from my 11th floor room, its incredibly frustrating. In room condition also not properly maintained. My team also stayed in this hotel and they had to change rooms several times, broken fridge, even broken bathroom handle. When i went to the gym at like 8.30 in the morning, the AC was not even on. Even the receptionist handle me they keyrooms in this worn out paper envelope thing that hotels usually give. Most hotels would give out the keys in fresh one paper envelope. But here, i saw the receptionist ripped out the old room number from the envelope and put my room number on it. Sinple thing but it is an embarrassment to Novotel name. When i come back here to Makassar, i definitely wont be staying in Novotel anymore. Thats for sure.

I mostly staying at Novotel makassar for my business trip. The location and the staff are some of the reason for me to going back to this hotel. They improving the lounge which is very nice, such as dinner & afternoon tea

Novotel Makassar Grand Shayla Rooms: I chose the Executive Room. The room is clean, modern and spacious. The beds are comfortable and well supported. Standard room amenities were provided such as kettle, iron, ironing board , beverages, bath robes, luggage holder, hangers, toiletries, work and a window couch. Facilities: Level 2 have several meeting rooms, swimming pool and a gym with basic equipment. Purchasing the executive floor gives you access to the executive lounge at level 12 that has a great view of Makassar and serves light savory and sweet snacks and beverages. Nearby activities: Novotel is close to many attractions in Makassar reachable by foot. There are many restaurants , cafes and bars close by. Safety: The hotel is secured 24 hours 7 days a week. Security access card is required on all levels and rooms. Access: The hotel is accessible via private and public transportation. Food and drinks: The hotel have only one restaurant; The Square. Within 1 km radius of the hotel there are many restaurants catered to both local and foreign. For breakfast, it starts from 6:00am to 10:00am and has a decent spread catering to both local and international cuisine. Noteworthy details : Customer service is credit worthy as they are there to assist the customers from the time of arrival until checkout. It helps if one is also an All Accor member as well. Different benefits for different customer tiering. Hotel highlights: Great hospitality, comfortable, and modern .

The overall experience stay was good, the room is spacious with the price they are offer is worth it, but the TV is very small though not even smart tv. I love there is a sofa bed in the room and huge window facing outside. The check in was smooth with pre arrival msg asking if I need to arrange airport pick up and the lady name Rifka was very helpful with my stuff left in the room upon check out, polite and communicative. The breakfast experience honestly needs to be improved, the food variety is fine but the pastry is cheap quality, and the staff all busy with their job - no courtesy, no smile and I couldn't find anyone to help when i'm having trouble pouring the soy sauce.
