I sent e-mail (H8… ) to the resort five times, but never heard back. I had difficulty communicating even when checking in and checking out. The resort was satisfied with its spacious garden, beach, delicious food unique to Sofitel and exclusive lounge. However, loud music from the resort right next door continued until 12 p.m., which was painful.

Overall nice relaxation. Hotel is beach front. Although the beach is unswimmable, the property has many pools and gardens. Personnel are extremely kind, special thanks to one of the bellmen for his kindness, offering me water at checkout and further got me matches and helped with our luggages. Perfect checkin and checkout experience, although accor points are still not counted. As for the Accor Diamond level recognition, there was one category room upgrade, but all rooms at those categories look same, I wished to get upgraded to pool access which were available, like in other sofitels in APAC, but that was not on the table. Lounge is nice offering a great variety of food and beverage, though there wasn't still water for last 2 days and mostly it is difficult to get some normal size glass. Furthermore, it isn't used for check-in and checkout. Welcome drink was trully the poorest which was offered to me in any Accor property since I joined Accor, about 12 years ago and even not considering the Accor membership level. Otherwise, room was top cleaned, high quality standards are kept, personnel tried to speak English, even that there's a bit of room for improvement there. Breakfast and especially buffet dinner at restaurant were perfect, with an excellent food choice. Internet connectivity is perfect. Overall, excellent work from management and front office. I hope to see you again for another vacation. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

I stayed at this property for 2–3 months in 2021 and another month in 2022. Somewhere between the departure of the previous GM, Marc de Beer, and the arrival of the new management team, the hotel began making a number of questionable decisions that don’t align with its branding or style. For example, playing loud music every night for a show that can be heard a kilometer away—and that echoes through the rooms—is extremely disruptive. It makes it impossible for guests to take an afternoon or early evening nap, or to enjoy some quiet time on the balcony or in the lounge. This type of entertainment would be better situated at the beach area, not in the main property. The service staff also appear to lack proper training. At breakfast, for instance, staff often shout “WELCOME, GOOD MORNING” in Chinese from down the hall, which feels more chaotic than elegant. When being escorted to a table, staff frequently say, “You can go get breakfast now,” instead of offering a drink or asking, “Can I help you with anything?" or "would you like something to drink?” For a property that presents itself as luxury, this is disappointing. The addition of fake leaves and grasses around the lobby entrance and hallways also feels out of place in a naturally lush tropical environment. To be fair, the hotel is still one of the better-designed properties in Haitangwan. However, design alone can only carry it so far before service gaps and questionable decisions diminish the overall experience. Some immediate, low-cost, and easy-to-implement suggestions: Turn down the music at the evening show so it is only audible to the immediate audience. At breakfast, open the doors on both sides of the dining area to seat guests more evenly and reduce noise levels. Provide staff with daily service guidelines during morning stand-up meetings to improve guest interaction. Rethink the key-login process for the breakfast area and lounge. At low occupancy, it already causes unnecessary queues. Staff should simply welcome guests in, confirm their room number, and report it back, rather than creating friction at the door. On busy days, this system will be even more problematic. Stop posting fake positive reviews. They are very easy to spot—especially on TripAdvisor, where similar short reviews with repeated names stand out. On XHS, nearly all recent reviews are negative, which is what people actually pay attention to. Guests are not fooled by inflated star ratings. Overall, the property needs to rethink its approach. I understand that the focus is now on catering primarily to mainland guests, given the limited number of international flights to Sanya. However, the promise of “living the French way” feels hollow when the experience is closer to that of an average property. By comparison, I recently stayed at the Fairmont next door: while its design is less impressive, its service quality is far superior, which is reflected in social media reviews. Does the property really believe that alienating better-educated and more discerning guests from wealthier cities such as Shanghai will lead to stronger revenue? You cannot ask for premium prices while simultaneously cheapening the overall experience. 방에 들어서는 순간 바다뷰가 정말 멋져요. 인테리어는 모던하고 방에서 좋은 향기가 나요. 저녁쇼도 볼만하고 여기저기 수영장 다니느라 지루하지가 않네요. 직원들도 소통이 잘되고 친절해서 또 다시 오고 싶어요. [ Room & View ] I stayed in the Imperial Suite. Beautiful sea view made me smile. Although it's a bit far from the sea, just looking at it lifts my spirits. The bedroom and living room are separated, the room is very spacious. It feels newly built, very clean, and there's a pleasant fragrance as soon as I enter. Extremely satisfied with the room condition! [ Food ] The breakfast quality was the best. The interior of restauran is modern, and there is a wide variety of food. I really wanted to try the dinner buffet, but my stay was only one night, so I couldn't. The buffet had a variety of seafood and the chinese reataurant had a very nice vibe. [ Service ] Special thanks to the team!. Their kindness make this a memorable trip. From the room decoration to the small fireworks on the beach, we was deeply touched.
