The room was superb, the pools are beautiful and the furniture is in excellent condition. Breakfast was excellent and the lounge access makes all the difference. Special thanks to the very friendly staff, in particular house keeping, who did a spotless job, and Mrs. Emily, who exceeded all expectations to make our stay unique and special. I am looking forward to returning soon.

I, my husband and my two kids (ages 3 and 5) just had a wonderful 3-night stay at this resort. From the moment we arrived, Aifen and her team, especially Nikki, did everything to make us feel super welcome, including: a speedy check-in process, fruits/ pastries in the room, extra cot ready etc. After a 3 hour drive with kids, this was so appreciated. The rooms were so lovely, with the “Little Prince” theme. We appreciated all the thoughtful artwork, toys, and small amenities for kids — slippers, robes, body wash etc. But the part that really blew us away were the children’s activities: the little train, the well-designed water park, the bubble and foam party, the indoor playground, evening performances for the whole family, arts&crafts and even go-karting! Even the buffets had special kids sections and special plates and utensils for little ones. To say my kids were delighted is an understatement. Nikki in guest relations is a gem—she was so responsive to all our needs, answering questions via WeChat within a few minutes. We also had the pleasure of running into the GM a few times; Aifen was so warm and lovely and she remembered my children’s names after just one quick introduction—so sweet! Like all Sofitels, we expected a wonderful stay and we weren't disappointed. It was the loveliest family vacation. We look forward to returning to Sofitel Sanya. Merci Beaucoup!

Everything was fine except the Bed and the buffet

The Sofitel is a luxury hotel with ample space and a close proximity to the beach. Our stay with our child was thoroughly enjoyable. We have visited several other Sofitels in Europe, America, and Africa. Unfortunately, the hotel is promoting rooms with the renowned Sofitel MyBed, which was not the case in our room. The bed was typical, not a MyBed, and the mattress was quite uncomfortable with overly soft pillows, manufactured by Slumberland, which was disappointing. Another issue we encountered was with the buffet. While recognizing that the majority of guests were Chinese, we expected a wider variety of food options at a Sofitel, a part of the French group Accor. We were greatly disappointed with the dinner buffet, as the selection of Western food was extremely limited. There was a scarcity of basic items such as bread, cheese, mineral or filtered water, and a notable absence of local fruits. The quality of pastries was lacking, with few options available, and even the lunch buffet was closed, leaving only the choice between a Thai or Chinese restaurant. In conclusion, I do not recommend this hotel to foreign guests due to the limited food offerings and the language barrier, as approximately 90% of the staff did not speak English. However, we appreciated the efforts of the staff who made an attempt to communicate with us through translation tools. Despite these shortcomings, we did enjoy the nightly entertainment and thank you for providing that.

afer covid we spend over 1,5 month at Hainan, in Sofitel Haikou , Raffles Hainan, Pullman Yalong Bay. Why not in Sofitel Leeman where we was so happy before covid - becouse me as Platinum member Accor Plus and my friend Diamond member Accor Plus send over 6 emails to reservations team and GM of this hotel and we do not get any answer, if two loyal Platinum and Diamond many years members of Accor Plus can not get any - positive or negative answer - so what can expect ordinary person? this is not Sofitel level and it is not high standard who was there before

Dear 19mateuszw, I am so sorry that you decided not to visit Sofitel Sanya during your recent stay in Hainan. You (your travel companion actually) emailed our Hotel Manager on 13 February at 20:43 and he responded the next day at 13:48. You then sent an email to Reservations on 19 February at 11:59 which was responded to by our Reservations Supervisor the same day at 19:06. Both our emails show as sent and we did not receive any "bounce back" message. As we never received any response to either email, we assumed you were not interested in our preferential rate offer. We thoroughly enjoyed out family holiday at the Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort. Such a huge complex with alot to explore and do - so many pools and designed so that it was easy to find your own space. The rooms (Deluxe Room, twin beds), were spacious and well appointed - always plenty of water left for us, rooms serviced very efficiently, room service on the occasion we used it was timely and well organised. We used the Executive Lounge alot - they offered a really good range of food and beverages, and changed due to the time of day (breakfast, lunch/afternoon tea, canapes/cocktails). The lounge was very busy and well used by guests, however the team in the lounge tidied and turned tables around super efficiently and were so helpful. Whilst I complement everyone working in the lounge, Rita was particularly excellent, recognising and remembering us and anticipating our needs so well. She was very very helpful, efficient and really pleasant. We stopped by on the way to checking out for a coffee, and she had already prepared my account, so we could check out there instead - magical! Would definitely come back to the Sofitel, really enjoyed the facilities, and the team/staff were all helpful and pleasant, from the reception staff, to the restaurant staff and everyone else we came across in the resort. 😊
