The hotel is beautiful, and the heated pool allows for swimming even in winter. Ms. Holly at the front desk provided excellent service.

Whilst the property is magnificent, the rooms are clean, and the air conditioning is good the overall service leaves much to be desired. Specifically, communication regarding events, beach dinners, when the lobby pianist will play etc is non-existent. This may well be because very few of the staff have a good understanding of spoken English. The only advertised event, a Christmas 'Feast on the Lawn', didn't happen ..... and we didn't find out until the time - even though we had booked to go. There is no ice machine available to guests, and attempting to have ice delivered to your room results in disappointment every time. There are no English TV channels available in the rooms. Getting 'chilled' beer or white wine seems to be an issue in both the restaurants and the pool bar. You will wait for half an hour at times. Clearly warm lager and wine is preferred by some. The afternoon tea offering does not change from day to day. It really should. On a more postive note, the pool is great, Frank in the Lobby Bar was fantastic and the bed in our suite was super comfortable. I recommend that Management go and experience Raffles in Singapore - they will then clearly see what they are missing in Lingshui.

First issue is regarding to late room availability upon check in. 2 out of 3 rooms were not ready till 6pm upon check in, even after communicating our arrival time of 2pm the day prior. The more serious issue is regarding safety. Found huge amount of glass debris, both big pieces and fine particles in the fruit plate. All well hidden under the fruits. My 3 year old played with and consumed the fruits throughout the stay until we discovered the the glass debris. She could have got badly cut, or even worse ingested glass debris. This is totally unacceptable for any hotel, not even a 5 star resort like Raffles. The more appalling part is the hotel's follow up communication. Very lacklustre. Promised follow up in a day but never heard back until I call back 3 days later. Showed little remorse and offered laughable compensation (first offered a soft toy, then offered a room voucher expiring in 8 months after I pushed back multiple times). I urge everyone be aware and stay clear of this hotel. They don't care about your safety or your satisfaction.

The hotel facilities are very good and the vacation atmosphere is strong. The beach can be said to be the softest sand in Hainan, and the hygiene is unquestionable. Both the public area and the room are spotless. I really want to thank every staff member responsible for cleaning.In addition, our butler, Andy, led us to check in, introduced the hotel area and activities, helped us book intangible cultural heritage paint fans, dinner, and spa, and took the initiative to order drinking water, coffee, and soft drinks in the room. On the last day, we had a small need. Butler Andy also helped coordinate and achieve a perfect ending for our trip. Thank you to Andy for his dedicated service.The Raffles Hotel gave us a relaxing and enjoyable vacation, and we will "revisit" again~
