The hotel was in the final stages of being redecorated which meant the room was very fresh but the breakfast offering was a bit lacking.

There was an air conditioning in the room, but no remote to make it work, it was really hot inside the room. The window was 5 meters away from another building window so we didn’t felt comfortable leaving the window open every time. The hotel was being renovated, which I understand can cause some trouble to the guests and I think it’s normal. What is really weird is to see that while we were having breakfast, the renovations continued. Once, I was eating, and a worker passed, did something at the door which spread a trail of dust right beside the food.

We arrived to horrific building noises in the reception area and our room felt filthy with bits of things hanging off the wall. The shower in particular was a disgrace with black mould covering most of the grouting. You are clearly restoring the building but in my opinion you close the property until it is finished. To charge innocent customers for such an appalling state is a disgrace. We have always enjoyed staying in Ibis hotels and probably stay in your Annecy property next week but this experience left a nasty taste in our mouths.
