ibis Bourg-en-Bresse Hotel 3 stars

We booked our stay in May 2019 and asked if the 2 rooms could be interconnected as we are a family. When we arrived we were told our room numbers but we had to ask at the desk why the door in between the 2 rooms wouldn’t open. We were told it was locked and there was no other rooms available. This has never happened in the past 5 years of us staying here. We were also disappointed with the choices for the evening meal. Thinking about looking elsewhere for next year.

we found the staff very pleasant and helpful and the guest accomodation was clean and well maintained. however the bathroom was suprisingly badly designed with poor provision for facilities which are normally far better laid out in other Ibis hotels we have stayed at in the past.

Always booked Ibis, this one was the worst I have experienced. It was cold in the hotel, no heating in the common spaces, everyone was freezing during breakfast time. No one understood English, I know we were in France but it is the first time in a hotel no one could understand a word of English. So when I tried to book by phone they said to book online because the didn’t understand. Online I had requested a cot but later I didn’t find one in the room because they didn’t know what “cot” that meant. When I said it in French they look for one but they said that there was not. Anyway the staff was kind and friendly but it was almost impossible to communicate because they did not understand what we said.

Very comfy beds and good breakfast

It was extremely amazing. Although we arrived at 3am in the morning, the staff were so helpful and made everything so accommodating. Just amazing! And check out was just as easy too!

Arrived at the hotel at 19:00 on a Friday night. Lucky me... some room still available. Restaurant La Courte Paille was good but not the best meal I can get in France. Breakfast was good, usual Ibis / Ibis Styles type of Breakfast.

A good location & a very popular hotel whilst we were there. We were disappointed with the beds - disabled adapted rooms should have twin beds as carers may often accompany those with handicaps. The shower was very close to the WC making access difficult & the floor flooded easily, though it was a good shower head to wash under.

Very dirty hotel, small room, no cleaning at all during my stay, never book again...

Good service , good breakfast. Air conditioning turned out to be just recycling the air, but not refreshing it. Size of the TV screen very small. Too expansive for the overall quality of stay.

I stayed previously at this hotel, very close from the Royal Monastery of Brou (you need to go and visit it, it is beautiful, it was voted "The favourite monument of the French" in 2014. The staff is friendly and smiling, nice room, nice bar, nice breakfast. very convenient.

Very pleasant hotel in a good position easy to access and continue our journey. We unfortunately did not like the food. Very poor indeed, no taste and mostly bones in the meat (coq au vin). Salad was nice.

Excellent location for a one night stop with friendly staff, good restaurant and free parking. Close to Brou monastery. Newly refurbished rooms are classy and comfortable although typically Ibis small.

This is a very smart and well-presented hotel. The restaurant is very good and, of course, very convenient for dinner. Breakfast was of the usual Ibis standard. This was our second stop here in two weeks. Our first room was comfortable and adquate but the second time the room was the smallest we've ever had in an Ibis. So the bathroom was a real squeeze.

We found the Ibis hotel very good value for money and excellent for a stopover when travelling through France. The rooms were clean and well maintained and the beds were very comfortable. We also found the staff very helpful.
