BunchOfLilies Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

Had a decent stay at Ibis Blackfriars recently. The room was clean & comfortable, fairly basic as you would expect. The breakfast was quite good. If you’re looking for a budget hotel in this area, I’d probably recommend the Travelodge Southwark over here. It was fine though I had no complaints.

Enjoyed a reasonably priced two night stay to do some early Christmas shopping as well as attending a match at Wembley; the location of the hotel suited both of these as it's very close to Southwark tube station but also close to the Southbank. All staff very friendly and a nice bar/restaurant area that had a nice vibe about it. Impressed with the room which was bigger than the usual Ibis room and a big bathroom.

3rd time I've stayed here for Remembrance Day. Suits my needs. Bit disappointed with early check in fee of £50. Ridiculous, £10 last year. Not sure about the rooms new decor, I thought the room was damp but it was the decoration on the ceiling. Everything else was good, cleanliness, fresh towels, tea etc, even the TV remote had batteries this year

Staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms basic, same as all Ibis. Sound proofing not great. Good location, handy for trains etc. Restaurant limited if you have any dietary needs. I’ve had mushroom siuo this evening : I’m not convinced it didn’t come out of a tin. Very familiar flavour….
