Appalling only given 1 bottle of water for the first night to share between 3 guests for a 2 night stay. Didn’t ask for housekeeping and when returning the second night we explained didn’t have housekeeping could we get some water each. Was not made aware of the 2 euro per water charge!! This is something that needed to have been told to us at the time. As we were then told on check out there is a 6 euro charge owing to the hotel for these waters!!

+ City centre can be reached easily on foot. => lots of restaurant, shops and else - Cleanness (Nuts from previous guest on the floor, hair around the bed, flies in the milk) - Did not feel at all to be in a 4 Stars, perceived to be more in an older 2/3 Stars - Parking was not accessible due to recent floods. Understandable at first but I seemed not to bother the hotel too much. Somehow passed the issue over to the client. => Find your parking with some guidelines. Paid 28 EUR/day instead 15 EUR/d as per hotel parking although it was not too far away. The hotel handed to me over a discount ticket for the parking after checking out, but i was only for non-accessible parking. => Not even all the staff seem to be aware, not sure how to take this. - Summary, too expensive compared to the provided services and especially ambience. Next time, I rather pay more than choosing this hotel. According to ALL app it’s the hotel with the highest category in town.

Yesterday I received a request to assess our stay in your hotel , arrival 12th November. I find this difficult and I will explain this to you. Although I understand that this kind of messages are automatically generated, it bothered me much to receive one. When we arrived we were very pleased by the welcome in your hotel. The staff was friendly and the room looked well. But then came the the DANA rainfall the day after arrival. That changed a lot in our opinion about the way things were handled in your hotel. Hereby our comments: First of all the assessment of the room. Highlight was the mattress. What a comfortable one. Top!! The room was spacious and comfortable, however there were two dirty spots on the couch. With a chemical spray could every housekeeper remove this in a few seconds. The door to the bathroom was hard to handle, probably due to moisture. The toilet had several defects. The tap was not tight attached to the wall and with a flexible service pipe in the wall could this have been damaged with al lot of water in the room as a consequence. Two screws in the threshold were dangerously extending. When one had walked barefoot in the room, the screws could have injured the feet.(( I myself tightened them with a screwdriver). And last but not least, after having closed the door of the it could hardly be reopened afterwards. The lock didn’t function well. We were very surprised about the division of the ground floor: Breakfast room, bar, reception entrance and room for electronic devices. With rather a lot of space on the ground floor, I think the architect could have done better. Our experience was, aside that the tables were very close o each other, it was very uneasy. The day that will be remembered by a lot of people. Let me start to write that with DANA it was hardly possible to do things well. But there is also some surprise from our side. Since the impact of DANA earlier in Valencia a.o. I expected that the hotel was better prepared for the forecasted rainfall in Malaga. The shelf in front of the hotel was not of the right material, it was not attached well. And more general, all the measures taken looked amateurish. I was advisor of big companies on safety and environment. And in this situation I got the impression that there was not a plan whatsoever For me it is shocking because you are responsible for the wellbeing and safety of your guests. For example, if there isn’t any electricity, take care that there is one safe room where there is light, first aid material and things like an AED so that guests can feel safe. In your case that could have been the breakfast room. A simple fuel generator could have been taken care of that electricity. And it surprised me as well that just around the corner there was a water vacuum cleaner(probably belonging tot the parking garage) that could have cleaned and dried the floor in less then half in hour. The communication to the guests wasn’t well, bad I would say. First there was the message that the power would restored in 20 minutes. So we waited in our room and OK, sometime things take more time and therefore we were patient. In the later night we went down to get information about the process in restoring the electric power. Then we heard that there was an evacuation. We were almost the last ones that were replaced to another hotel. When we arrived in the IBIS we saw that there was irritation not to us, but more about the communication between the hotels. The manager in charge was very kind to us that night and the next morning as well. Although money doesn’t interest me very much, I as a very experiences traveller found it also curious that we were transferred to a lower rated hotel without any message about possible financial consequences. Of course we hope that DANA wille stay away for the coming 100 years, but we also know that the chance on more of these terrible events in the coming decades are more likely. This was a wake up call from climate change. Inform yourself, take measures, have a contengency plan with concrete measures and practice from time to time in handling an evacuation. And let me underline at the end of my comment, that the personnal contact with you and the staff was utterly friendly.
