This was the third visit to the hotel, but the first one in winter. The AC being turned off is a real problem, because if you have the windows open mosquitoes will get in. I had many bites both nights I was there, and killed at least 3 mosquitoes. But it was too warm and stuffy to sleep with the window closed (or the heating on). Because of this I will only ever return in the summer months, when the AC is turned on.

We started out getting a wrong room. It was fixed, though. Cleaing was not impressive. No possibility to make tea or coffee in room. No place in room for non-hanging clothes. Location perfect. Ibis is sadly not what it used to be.

Staff were great - friendly and efficient. Hotel was clean and tidy. Looks much better for the refurb. Breakfast was generally good, but prepared fruit as previously supplied was a much better option. It is impossible to peel and cut fruit at the breakfast table without getting very messy! The window in our room (226) did not seem to close fully, allowing noise from outside. We do not like just having shelves for storage. Small items just fall on the floor. A drawer or two are much needed. A room safe would also be a big plus. The door key cards constantly fail. We were far from alone in suffering this issue - thetecwas usually somebody at reception having their card reset. Very annoying to get upstairs, only to find neither card will open the door and having to return to reception - yet again! The keys were always kept on their own and separate from any other cards, but still failed on several occasions. One lift was out of order throughout our stay and there was no sign of anybody to repair it. Overall satisfied, but a few things, particularly the lack of shelves and failing keys need attention please.

Reception, and breakfast/bar area staff were great. Clean rooms and communal areas. Scored as a 9 as the aircon was poor and room too warm to sleep (road noise prevented window opening as a solution).
