First and foremost, the fire that affected ibis Málaga Centro was a very serious and unexpected incident. As your arrival date coincided with the day on which this event occurred, the situation was understandably extremely challenging and, at times, chaotic for both guests and staff. Our priority was to ensure the safety of everyone involved and to find alternative accommodation for all guests whose reservations were affected. We fully understand that the disruption and the changes to your booking were frustrating. Although every effort was made to assist guests as quickly and efficiently as possible, we recognize that not every aspect of the process met the standards you expected, and for this we sincerely apologize. Regarding the room rate, we would like to clarify that you were not charged the rate originally booked at ibis Málaga Centro. Instead, the rate applied was that of our hotel, which was lower than the price of your initial reservation. The written confirmation you received reflected the room rate based on the information available to us at that time. As we had not received any indication that breakfast was included in your original booking, the confirmation was issued for accommodation only. Nevertheless, even after breakfast was added, the final amount charged remained lower than the total value of your original reservation at ibis Málaga Centro. We would also like to assure you that there was never any intention to take advantage of the circumstances. On the contrary, throughout this difficult situation, our team worked tirelessly to accommodate displaced guests, often with limited information and under considerable operational pressure. While we regret any confusion regarding the booking details, we firmly believe that our staff acted professionally and in good faith under exceptionally difficult circumstances. We appreciate your loyalty to Accor over the years and are genuinely sorry that this experience has left you disappointed.
