Everything but the room floor and breakfast was good. Overall the facility was clean. The bedroom floors were vacuumed but stained in multiple areas. The hot part of the breakfast was mediocre if that.

The room was for 3 and the sofa bed was not needed and remained made reducing the usable space. One of the main lights was not working and couldn't be repaired until our second day making the room very dark. The breakfast was poor, the orange juice was so diluted it had no taste. The hot food ie the bacon, sausages and fried eggs were all overcooked and virtually cold even when freshly served and there seemed to be inadequate staff to keep the buffet stocked. For a 4 star hotel it was the worst I have ever tasted

Rooms were decent. Staff super friendly and helpful. Pool was very cold and the changing area dirty with clumps of hair and dirt on the shower and communal changing area floor. It was disappointing after waiting for a booked slot to swim to find the water quite so cold and the communal changing area difficult to navigate with nowhere to sit or put things down where they wouldn't be swimming in water on the floor or you'd be exposed to people in the pool or men coming in for the shared area.

Floors in the lobby need a Good wash and polish . Reception desks all chipped . Hand prints all over glass doors and chrome lifts . Mould in showers and around windows in bedroom . Number on door was chipped . Sheets were dirty with something that felt hard like candle wax or something dried in. I would have just expected better hygiene and cleanliness standards from an accor property.

I say mostly o.k. as there are some simple and relatively inexpensive changes which could be made to make a stay at Novotel so much better. Water in the room. Shower cap. Toiletries. Better quality breakfast. I realise you are in a city centre location and cramped for space but a larger dining area and better seating at reception would be good. Also high stools in the bar not really comfortable for older people.
