The worst beds and pillows ever!!

We stayed on the 4th December and were due to stay another night on the 5th. Our room was basic but clean. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was okay. Unfortunately though we decided to leave early on the 5th and miss our second nights stay, even though it meant losing about £140! Our bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in - or should I say not slept in, and we couldn’t bear the thought of another sleepless night in it! It was so hard that we hardly slept at all and in the morning we were tired, aching and stiff. The pillows were also VERY hard and felt like rocks. Since coming back home, I have noticed a lot of the reviews mention this issue. We contacted Ibis about the problem and their response was poor - “ Were genuinely sorry to hear that the mattress and pillows werent as comfortable for you as youd hoped. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to bedding, and unfortunately it sounds like our setup just didnt suit you on this visit”. Not the response we had hoped for - I can’t imagine that ANYONE would find the bed and pillows in room 200 remotely acceptable. We won’t be staying at the hotel again, and have already booked a 5 day stay at another Liverpool hotel next month!

Great location, right near the docks, 10 minutes walk to the main city centre. Hotel was basic but very clean and comfortable, rooms were lovely and warm..breakfast could be improved but plenty of choice…staff good. Nice basic quite hotel… would definitely book again Thanks Ibis enjoyed my stay.

Rooms small and like hospital side rooms for the price I expected better. There was no soap dispenser by the sink and no hand towels the only positive was the location.
