Attended an event at the M&S Bank arena. Got a great bed and breakfast deal for this hotel compared to other hotels. Breakfast wasn't as good as other hotels we've stayed at but was ok for a one night stay. The room was a good size, bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good. We had a third floor room at the back of the hotel and even with the room being too warm for us we slept well despite leaving a window open, in November!, due to the air conditioning not working particularly well. Would stay again if going to the Arena.

The staff were quite rude and unhelpful, especially during 'welcome'; leaving us feeling much less than welcome. The heating system was noisy and instantly went cold as soon as the fan was off. The carpet was old, looked unclean, and had no underlay so was uncomfortable to walk on. The bathroom however was clean. The hotel is well located, external noise is soundproofed well. But internal hotel noise is heard easily in the room.

Checking in was quick. Pleasant employees. When I checked in online I clicked I didn’t need handicap accesses. We were given a handicap room with a wet bathroom. The toilet leaked and the staff was quick to repair the leak. The room was clean. As an American I am used to being provided with wash cloths but none were but it was no big deal. The hotel is located within a twenty minute walk from the train station a a few minutes from the water front with the Beatles statue.
