1) I paid in full before arriving but the receptionist insisted on taking an run through of a debit card. Why ?? 2) I parked by the hedge on what appeared to be Ibis property but was asked to move to a near by bay belonging to a different company an move the car by 8am. Why ? The advert says on site parking available. Could you explain these please ?

We wanted a room that hadn’t had dogs in it as my wife has asthma and we requested one. However they never replied and we were told all rooms are dog friendly.. Too late to change hotel

It's a room to sleep in. Comfortable bed, clean room. Very basic, you need to ask for a hairdryer and a kettle at reception. 2 paper cups in room & you buy tea & coffee from reception. Parking is limited on site but you can park for free across the road at the B&Q. Shower is a pod unit, sink is in the room and the toilet is separate behind a door. Bath towel only, no flannel or hand towel. All worked but as I say its simple and basic. You get what you pay for. Lots of single workmen staying on business.

The room was unfortunately completely unsuitable for our needs. It was myself and my partner staying for two nights with my disabled sister. She usually needs no accommodations however she did break her wrist earlier this year and the pictures on booking.com showed a relatively modern looking room with what I thought was a set up she might be able to use for the top bunk. However on arrival it was not quite as we expected and it was not easy for her to get up and then it turned out impossible for her to get down from the top bunk. We ended up with her having to share the bed below with me and my partner having to stay on the top bunk despite weight limit because she physically couldn't use the ladder there was no safety rails and no way for us to position ourselves to help her up and down. When we talked to the staff the next morning they said there was nothing they could do because there were no accessible rooms with three beds I asked if there were any rooms where there were just a set of bunk beds under double bed so at least she could use the bottom bunk, but they said no they only have that type of room. I asked what parents with two children do and I was told they book two rooms which feels a little irresponsible if you had two relatively young children. I asked if I could have a refund for the second night but was told there was nothing they could do there because it was through booking.com and therefore I needed to talk to them which I couldn't get through to them on a Sunday so we just had to make do for the second night as is. The lady when we checked in the first day we found her quite abrasive and not all that helpful. The breakfast... We found that quite disappointing. I certainly won't be staying again and I won't be recommending it to anybody else.

Staff lovely. Room dreadful. Will never stay again. No carpet on floor. Room tiny. No bedside table or chairs. Had to get kettle and coffee from reception and pay for it. For £150 I expected far more. Do not stay there.

the rooms were always dirty and always when the house keeping come to clean they dont sweep or mop the floor like do the cleaning of the room. also the room i was in never had a switch in the restroom, like is that real? This is on the fourth floor.

I just like a clean efficient, self-contained kind of experience. I love the closeness of Fratton Train Station, I even like the take away outlets for a different efficient 24 experience, unlike my usual habit of elaborate cooking.
