Hotel with some good features but a lot of improvement needed especially with catering

This hotel has some good features, notably proximity to the station and the staff were generally very welcoming and helpful. On the not so good side, the heating in my room was not working and the food offerings were very expensive and poor. The first night we ordered what the menu described as cod fillet with chips and tartar sauce. No cod fillet was on the plate which arrived just a small number of tiny goujons of fish, a small portion of chips and a tiny portion of peas. Apparently they had no tartar sauce. We also ordered a salad from the menu but they couldn't do this as they had no lettuce! The next day's curry was lukewarm and so it went on. All food was very poor value for the high prices charged.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in your family room for our Annual Xmas shopping weekend. Room was very clean, with a drink station ready for you. We used the swimming pool, & sauna again what a treat! We find everything to be clean. Little point- I found that the shower in the women's changing area wasn't running properly out of the top it was leaking out all over the place not massive issue, just needs descaling or replacing for it to run out smooth again. when you have hair as long as mine it was little challenging to wash, I used the other shower next to the sauna the following. Front of house was great- 24 hour service on the counter, always seemed friendly and welcoming. We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food but restaurant seemed busy. Paid for 3 days parking £30 which I feel a good price.

This centrally located, well appointed hotel provided me with all the amenities a. facilities necessary for a very comfortable stay. Staff responses were always positive a. i. the guests best interest. The restaurant staff were very hospitable a. accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a well furnished centrally located business base i. S.. I've already booked a follow up stay!

Welcoming foyer - then gets worse as you go to your room

The foyer is welcoming, but the quality declines as you head to your room. The carpets are dirty, and the decor feels outdated. The room itself was poorly maintained, with cleanliness issues and an old, inadequate shower. For better value, consider staying next door at the Ibis. As for the breakfast, priced at £18, it’s not worth it due to the poor quality.
