I stayed overnight after a work's Christmas lunch. The whole experience was excellent and the room was spacious and comfortable. The service from all the staff was professional and efficient and everyone was helpful and polite.

There were barely any staff, and those around we’re unresponsive and unhelpful. 3 of my party waited 1.5 hrs to get their room because it wasn’t ready. This was a massive issue because we needed to get ready for my mums 70th birthday party. So all crammed in my room. We tried the pool which was so cold the kids turned blue. My room was very unclean, the light switch in toilet was black with filth. Just a really unpleasant stay. We chose Novotel for its facilities but it was a massive let down. Parking £10!!!! Ridiculous given how expensive rooms are and nowhere else possible to park. Could only use pool once because the following day I woke up with conjunctivitis, likely due to pool being dirty is what I’ve been advised by my Gp.

Always stay here but to be honest was on fourth floor and could do with decorating new carpets as even the hallway is quite stained. Our key card kept not working very inconvenient going up and down and yes it was kept away from mobiles.

New experience with Novotel Southampton

Check in/out was nicely executed, thanks for early check in. However, there were several bathroom leaks. 1) basin outlet pipe has minor leak 2) water leak into bedroom area. Carpet was wet and remained damp for several days after leak was fixed. No attempt on drying the carpet and it cause awful smell due to probably fungul/bacterial breeding. I had to vent out the air through window opening each time i got back. Whoever took action on bathroom leak and wet carpet should have done more than just fixing the leak.

We have stopped a number of times but I think it’s time we looked at other options. The thermostat was broken so we could not change the temperature and the bath plug didn’t work.

Pleasant Novotel, could be anywhere in Europe which is fine by me. Bar was not quite as good as in some places and the food being served in the bar did not look that great. No nibbles given with our drinks.

Nice hotel situated in a good location for Southampton and local areas. Lobby is welcoming and staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were relatively clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was good with a varied choice of dishes including hot and cold choices. Overall a decent experience. Slightly expensive and you have to pay extra for parking.

Unfortunately there was no cold water in the room in the morning. We had to shower under hot water which was interesting! I also left my pyjamas in the room (hanging on the back of the bathroom door) and when I called later once I got home and unpacked the hotel tells me nothing was found!

Always stay at this Hotel when I'm in Southampton, always a pleasant experience, staff are always friendly and helpful and the rooms have everything you need for your stay which is why I always comeback, have recommended it to a few colleagues and last week there were 4 of us there on the same night. Only one small issue this time though somebody forgot to put the Heater on for the Swimming Pool it was a little cold !!. See you again in January
