Good place to stay !

Always a good place to stay when going to Southampton. Well situated for theatre shops and the docks. Left my car there whilst on a mini cruise and felt it was safe. Service was very friendly and the hotel felt Covid secure.
Would not stay here again

Hotel bedroom was a bad layout. Toilet was in one part of the room and washhand basin and bath in another part of the room. After using the toilet you had to walk through 3 doors to wash your hands. Bed very hard did not sleep well. Breakfast not up to much . Would not stay here again

With 2 kids very young children you decided to put us in a room that was closest to the wedding that was happening. Therefore music blasting till very late and the room vibrating with the sounds. Also absolutely no air con or ventilation at all!!

Called hotel prior to booking to ask if the swimming pool was in use I was told yes and therefore we booked here as we had young children and this would be lovely for them. Paid extra for this luxury. When we arrived the reception was full. I asked if could use the pool, it was open 6am-10pm, they told me I need to join the que of people!! I was informed that the Swimming pool had restricted numbers (understandably due to Covid restrictions etc) however no booking system, time slots or time limits were in place therefore multiple guest were sat in waiting area for long periods of times. The hotel stated it could be up to an hour and half wait and we had to be present and couldn’t come back or we would lose our place in the que. Having a 3year old and 6month old baby it wasn’t an option to sit and wait in reception. Reception staff said it had been an issue for a while yet no system had been thought of. management were out the back but refused to discuss it with us even though multiple guests asked to speak to her, the lady on reception was over her head in complaints and got no support from her manager. She then started asking us (guests) what we would do in her shoes and what do we suggest. Not really professional to ask guests the solutions to a long term problem. The next morning after breakfast the same situation had arisen again and multiple guests were queuing, sat in swimwear and towels in the main reception of the hotel, complaining. We reluctantly joined the que with our children who had been promised a swim in the hotel. We waiting 1hour 5mins and then felt very under pressure to be considerate of other waiting and not to take too long in the pool. Prior to my booking or during my call none of this had been communicated to me and I rang directly to the hotel to book especially to ask about the pool. Overall the whole system had failed and it was embarrassing to sit and hear so many people complaining. Management refused to come out leaving the receptionist running in and out the back relaying unhelpful messages from her manager. She was eye rolling and it was clear there was no staff support, no customer communication and no customer service. It was a great shame and let down on belhalf of your hotels.
