I stay at the IBIS or Novotel in Southampton regularly - my choice of hotel when I'm in the city. THis trip was fraught with problems, non of them created by the hotel. For the first two of my four days I was in the Novotel as the IBIS has been c losed during the lockdown. For these two dfays we had no internet due to a problem that their internet provider found difficult to resolve. I wasn't happy. Day 3 I awoke to find theat the hotel had no water - again, another problem that was not of the hotel's making. They opened the IBIS and we were transferred there, but unfortunately the hotel had been closed for many months and took a long while to get it warm. Staff were called in and everyone did everything they could to make a very difficult situation easier for guests. It wasn;t the modst comfortable stay I've ever had but I could not fault the willingness of the staff and their genuine desire to make things better for us. It will not prevent me from going back. It's at times like these when things are difficult that customer loyalty pays back. I don't expect things to be perfect. I do expect to be valued as a customer in all situations and this is exactly what they showed us. Bravo all you staff - you worked so hard in an impossible situiation. The full cost of my stay had been refunded by the time I checked out, and I know I will be welcomed back again next time. Thank you everyone.

A short stay for work purposes, check-in great, room good value at £53 parking convenient COVID measures well-observed - although it would be good to see an insistence on guest wearing masks i.e no service if not wearing etc. Breakfast is a little inconsistent - toast needs butter, milk for tea, and perhaps some condiments on offer but the quality of the food is good and the switch to collection works well. I noted that a walk in was being offered a room rate of £32 per room which was a bit of a blow!
Well located for West Quay, the cruise terminal and the Old Town area

Straightforward, clean, comfortable hotel with good access to everuthing you'll need in Southampton within walking distance. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would recommend.

This is our 2nd stay this year, and in these very difficult times our stay was still very good although there is a reduced menu there was still something we could choose for evening meal, did miss the buffet breakfast, but you place order night before with a time and bought to your table, overall our stay was still very good and we are very happy to stay there again when we need to have a break from the norm
