We arrived and checking in was easy and staff friendly. When entered the room we were shocked with the layout, separate toilet space but sink openly in the room and no privacy for showering. Shower was in the corner of room with a glass door but when finished you had to step out into the main bedroom for all to see. If you were travelling with a work colleague or someone not to close to you this would of been an uncomfortable situation. The room was so hot despite saying there was air conditioning, there wasn't it didn't work and we were told it was just there to regulate what the room temperature already was which was 26 degrees. We had 1 fan and a window that opened about 5 cm. We also asked for an extra pillow but got told there wasn't any. To top it off I got charged twice for our stay which I wouldn't of noticed but had to check my bank app and saw they had taken another £330 for no reason at all, 2 days after stay I am still waiting for the refund. Also the maid walked in the room at 8.30am in the morning when we were still in bed saying they didn't even know someone was in our room.

Good afternoon Katrina, Thank you for reaching out to us. As explained, the ibis budget does not have any form of air conditioning, however we do have an air cooling system. These systems are different and our staff would have explained the difference to yourself. We do apologize that during a national heatwave the rooms were warm, and regret that despite our best effort we fell short of your expectations on the occasion. The windows also ave a safety catch, to ensure our guests well being during their stay unfortunately we are unable to change this. We do apologize that your were charged twice, however, this was refunded to you on the same day. As advised at the time card refunds are usually not instantaneous debit card refunds because of a complex web of interconnected systems involving merchants, payment processors, banks, and card networks. We did advise at the desk that the refund could take anywhere from 1- 7 days. As for your additional concerns, these have been noted and we will be addressing these issues with our staff to ensure that this does not happen again in future. Kind regards Front Office Team

No air conditioning and no tea or coffee facilities in the room. As an asthmatic, I struggled to breathe comfortably, especially in the warm weather. The window could only be opened slightly, so there was very little ventilation. This made the room uncomfortably hot and affected my stay.
