I have stayed with this ibis before. the staff who checked us in was very friendly. We have given an accessible room as I requested a room with space as I was travelling with my little girl. The room was fine but the floor was not cleaned properly the housekeeping needs to vacuum the floor. The toilet also needed some freshener as it was smelling very bad. The lady on reception called Diana was very kind as she has given me water thank.

Room was really clean. Location was great for the town and Gunwharf.

Downside was when I booked room for 2 people I added breakfast but when we got to hotel she said we had only payed for one person. She also never said what time breakfast was or explain where we had to go for breakfast.

We have supported IBIS Winston Churchill Avenue for some time, and cannot praise the Reception Teams too highly. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they always remain cheerful and helpful. I recommend the IBIS Portsmouth experience to all who want a pleasant and relaxing break.

Room was very basic. I could not find a radio. There were no instructions about how to use the TV. Could not access the internet. No phone in the room to be able to request help with these things. Some hanging space but little space to put things down. Any surfaces had curved edges so things fell off. Having read some reviews, I was expecting paper cups so came prepared with a mug, BUT there was no warning when booking.

I stayed for one night the room was clean, the bed comfortable and large. The bathroom was tiny and i was not aware of this when booking. It was perfectly fine for one night but if I had my other half with me and for longer than a night it might have been an issue. On check out I was told the receipt would be emailed to me as I need it for expenses - 48 hours later I am still waiting.

Considering we’ve had a lockdown and we’ve got the coronavirus we didn’t feel unsafe at the Ibis hotel in Winston Churchill Avenue in Portsmouth we felt the place had been correctly set up to deal with the coronavirus also the cleanliness was perfect and there was no issues there they upgraded the TV system which was nice , because of the coronavirus after 10 pm there was not much to do in Portsmouth so most people were staying in their rooms which that gave a bit of relief to be able to watch telly so the breakfast was set up quite well with a table service and the food was excellent the staff was quite knowledgeable on the phone but as you can understand because of the coronavirus they were not as knowledgeable which is understandable with different retailers and restaurants policies and procedures , so if a customer that I’ve never been to Portsmouth before and was asking where the best restaurant to go and what are their policies and procedures for the coronavirus the staff correctly told them to have a look online as we didn’t have that information, which is better to not give a customer the wrong information incorrectly just tell them to go and check online

The member of staff who greeted us was polite, friendly and accommodating as was the member of staff I spoke to when we left. I loved the decor and the general ambience and regret not having tried the food as the menu looked very appetising. Our room was clean and comfortable and the shower was excellent - great towels too. I appreciated having a kettle to use as I'd brought my cafetiere. I've stayed at IBIS hotels before but not for some time and this visit has encouraged me to stay again. It was also a bonus to be able to stay late as we were catching the overnight ferry to France.

Stayed one night for work commitment, check-in was no issue. The receptionist was very friendly and explained everything well regarding the current COVID measures. Room was ok and found clean, the mattress and pillows needed an upgrade as sleep was not as good as it could be. Disappointed that you can't get served breakfast even during these times there is no excuse.

Good location, however room was very small. The bed was uncomfortable, it gave me a sore back, and we only had 2 teabags for the 2 of us so i had to buy more from sainsburys. The fact we get plastic cups and plastic mugs is cheap, i understand Covid is going on - but mugs and cups can be washed in a hot dishwasher, the plastic cups and mugs are one off putting, two cheap, and three causing more recycling.

Rooms are too small and so noisy especially when there is young people running up and down the hallways all night! The toilet is very small and she bed wasn’t overly comfortable, no phone in the room or much info etc
